My dad stopped using Netscape like barely a year ago. ROFL.

I'd had been trying for at least a year to make him use Firefox.
Then when I switch to chrome, he tells me he downloaded Firefox.

I can't win with that man.

ya'll are seriously forgetting about another good browser, Opera. it's pretty much got the best of both internet explorer and firefox. and those mouse movement shortcuts are so much of a timesaver.

Opera is Chrome before Chrome existed. Seriously, they're almost the same exact browser with Chrome moving a bit faster with more support thus more compatibility and Opera being more stable than any other browser with tabs while also saving tabs. Both are on my computer. Both point and laugh at the failures that are FF and IE. Sadly I have to keep around IE for a couple of college sites that only support IE or Netscape, but one of these days the standard will no longer care about making things IE compatible and things will be a lot better.

We've been over this, Rombat, yo, FF isn't a failure to the general, casual user.

Opera compiles JavaScript and runs independent processes for each page?

I should also mention, Chrome will easily dominate both FF and IE when there's more third-party compatibility.

I have to use IE to do my online banking. It won't run in Safari which winds me up NO END.

I was wondering the same thing, which is the best to get. What is Safari, Opera and Chrome? Clearly I am behind on this stuff, I feel like I live in a closet. I just switched to Firefox from IE this year and now Firefox is crashing on me daily, usually when I am on Bloop! So out of the 3 above listed which one is the best all around??

If you have problems with Firefox, I suggest Chrome. It's the most user friendly. Opera is pretty similar to Chrome, but it's better for some people for reasons I couldn't explain (talk to Rombat about that). Safari is an Apple-based browser, but it works on Windows. It's decent.

Thanks! I downloaded Chrome and I'm using it now. Hopefully it won't start to crash too.

You can do themes for it?? How? I had a theme on Firefox but I didn't know you could do that with Chrome. Does Chrome crash at all?

I'm an avid FF user, and I despise IE. I've tried out Chrome once on my old laptop, but found it crashed a lot, but since I have a new laptop, I might give it a go again. ;D

I won't comment on how terrible IE is.

FF is pretty good. The add-ons really complete it, but, as Chris said, once there is 3rd party support the winner is...

Chrome! I love it because it can be functional while being streamlined. I want to see as much content as possible. Extensions are pretty cool. This is my current number one because speed differences are SIGNIFICANTLY better. My current desktop runs 2.20GHz processor with 640MB RAM. D':

I do love Opera and Safari, though. Safari on PCs never really appealed to me, but I'm moving to a Mac once I get teh moniez. Opera is more functional than Chrome while still being a close relative. It isn't as fast though. I do love the built-in IRC support, though!
