Water maiden

06/05/2010

It's officially summer to me. I went swimming at the creek yesterday!

I've been wanting to go swimming for nearly a month now. I know it is almost summer when the thought of swimming (outdoors, haha) excites me beyond belief. Hehe. I could live in the water...if that was an option. I love the water. (I'm sure my skin would eventually get used to it and not prune up over time, haha. )
Although, Kourtney and I sweated off all our sunblock on the way to the creek. My car is like a sauna. Truly. I have no working air conditioning. My "AC" is my rear passenger window. It is the only window that rolls down. I am telling the truth and nothing but the truth when I say that.
We saw 7 people that we knew while at the creek. Kourtney and April jumped off this giant rock that rises about 10 feet off of the ground...if not more. I did not measure it. I did not even climb it. I didn't see the reason to climb up it just to climb down it as well. I had no intention of jumping in the first place. Haha. Call me a weenie, I don't care. I don't like heights and I'm not a risk taker. Deal with it!

So...what has been going on in my life lately? Well, my work hours have been cut pretty bad but I do understand the reasons behind it all. It's not just about me being able to pay bills. It's also about my employers being able to pay the bills. We aren't getting the business like we previously did. We are still busy, don't get me wrong, but we don't have the financial business like before. That may change with time. In the meantime, everyone has to deal with the consequences of lost business. That doesn't mean I have to like it, but it means I have to either deal with it or do something about it. Point blank. (Sidenote: I still work a lot. Haha.)

I want to go back to the creek...or anywhere I am able to swim (safely, of course). Haha.

There is a squirrel on the electrical lines outside my window. He is backlit by a truly amazing, golden sunrise on the horizon. For those with great visual imaginations, that should be easy to picture.
(sidenote: The sun has nearly risen over the horizon and it is so golden that it is blinding me. The sun itself is joy personified...shooting out of its core. Then, the horizon gradually blends into deeper golds while highlighted with shafts of lighter shades of a golden yellow. It's truly amazing to watch it shift with time. I enjoy God's handiwork, what can I say?)

I have an amazing (or disturbing, depending on the situation) visual imagination. That is why I have to be careful what I let into my consciousness (via verbal statements). One of my former coworkers mentioned redneck cavemen playing their version of a guitar (a stick with one string attached to it) at the creek. Let's just say that I got a very strong visual image of that. Haha. He realized just how visual I am at times...when I proceeded to describe what I saw. He said I should draw it sometime but I know I cannot do that. Human anatomy is always a little askew in my drawings unless I have something physical to work with as well. Even then, it can be a little askew...especially hands and teeth. Those are my weaknesses. Two of them anyway...

I got called into work yesterday while on my way back to Kourtney's house (to drop her off...I drove). I was driving or else I would have considered answering the phone. I waited until I got home to call work back-to ask if they still needed the help. Obviously, they did...and I need the hours, so it was a symbiotic situation for all. Haha.
After work, I went by my former landlords (around 2am, haha) to drop off a backrent payment. I woke up John...oops. I didn't mean to wake anyone up. I only owe them $...dot.. now. That is code for "way too much still". Haha. At least they know that I intend to pay them back. They were great landlords. I do miss living there sometimes.

Anyway, it's nearly 7am and I'm finally getting tired. Plus, I have to be at work in 10 hours...it's bedtime. Talk to you later.--Your neighborhood water maiden, Robyn
