Cheeky beggars

Something unexpected happened at work tonight. I'd tell you what that is but I can barely keep my head upright, type correctly, or keep my eyelids open. So...I'll tell you later. Sorry.

I "met" someone I knew from back in my hometown in the drive thru of BK last night. This is the conversation that came out of our "meeting".

Me: $..... is your total, ma'am. (she gave me the money for her order)
Me: You look like someone I grew up with...one of my sister's friends. (I omitted that I hoped that I hope "she"-whom I didn't expect to end up being Brandi- was nicer than the girl I knew in the past. Haha. Something to told me to shut up before that statement flew out.)
Her: What's your name?
Me: Are you from the **** ****** area?
Her: Yes.
Me: (I told her my name)
Her: I remember you! Oh my goodness! What are you doing here?
Me: Working at BK...(not happy about it, I was exhausted)
Her: (She carried on a couple minute conversation about this time and I don't remember most of it. We covered that I had moved here and where my sister lives & that Keri has kids now. ETC...)(Sidenote: I had another car waiting to order at this time and I wasn't being conversational toward Brandi but I didn't want to outright be rude either.)

She got my phone number and was going to call her ex, Jay...whom I knew also. Jay and I were in the same graduating class in high school. He's a good guy. I hope the rumors I have heard in the past ended up being false. I'm not going into them. I don't spread gossip. I don't like to gossip.

All I can say is that it is a small world. If she calls me, that's fine. If she doesn't, that's fine. I have nothing against her nowadays but I used to dislike how she talked about my sister behind her back in the past. They obviously weren't the best of friends. I'll be honest when I say that my sister had very few "true" friends back then. She lives in Joplin now apparently. Like I said...a small world...

Well, I shared the news. I'm still pretty tired even though I slept in until late this afternoon. I'm sore from my feet to the thumb on my left hand. Let's just say that I crushed in between a spring-loaded bicycle kickstand and one of the metal bars of the bike itself yesterday afternoon while on my way to work. The damage isn't anything serious but it isn't enjoyable either.

I'm still tired because I haven't completely recovered from working a 9 hour (chaotic) shift on ZERO hours of sleep yesterday. I couldn't sleep the night before last and I had planned on working 2 jobs the next day (yesterday). However, I couldn't do my housekeeping job because the lady wasn't home. I guess she was with her mother while she got her eyes got operated on (laser eye surgery). Thus, I was still up at 7am with nothing to do until noon. I had to work at BK yesterday from 12pm-8pm. I was nice and cranky by the time 8pm rolled around. Haha. I knew I had to get out of the public eye as soon as possible last night so I made sure my boss when the clock "chimed" 8pm.

I'm dreading going back to work at 5pm tonight...which is a few hours away...also at BK. Don't you like my jacked up hours? Haha. I'm glad I didn't get another day shift today though because I would have been hard-pressed to wake up for it otherwise. I'm looking forward to tomorrow when I am off of work. I refuse to work on Sundays now that I have the leverage to demand that at BK. When I worked there before, I always worked on Sundays. I didn't get to go to church for a year...for the most part. The only times I actually went to church then was when I was "home" with my grandparents and the few times I went by myself here in Joplin.

Anyway, I'm rambling now. I need to go grab something to eat before my stomach declares nuclear war on itself...the cheeky beggar that it is. I will communicate with you all later.--Robyn

VICARS/PASTORS/MINISTERS - I USE THE TERMS INTERCHANGEABLY. THEY ALL CALL THEMSELVES SOMETHING DIFFERENT ANYWAY, BUT IT'S ALL THE SAME THING! WE HAVE SEVERAL AT MY CHURCH BECAUSE IT'S ECUMENICAL, AND I'VE TOTALLY LOST TRACK OF EACH DENOMINATION'S TERMINOLOGY.
