MLK...it does a body good!

01/19/2009

I served Martin Luther King Jr.'s driver today at BK. How historic is that? I didn't know at the time that it was him but I found out when I watched the news tonight when I got home. I was only watching the news because it came on and I didn't change it. Haha. He was speaking at MSSU for their MLK Jr. day of events.

I called my sister tonight and vented about work to her. Lydia didn't answer the phone...any of the 4 times I called her. Haha. I wanted to talk to someone who would make me laugh because I was tired and cranky. I didn't want to act or feel that way. Keri did the job well enough though. She did her own share of venting also, just so you know. She usually does that well. Hehe.

I haven't had internet access the past few days. I had a connection but it didn't want to work for some reason. I didn't try to diagnose the problem in too much detail. I figured the access would return sooner or later. Eh.

I went into work 6 hours early today. Mind you, I didn't know that I was doing that. The last time I had checked my schedule, I was supposed to arrive at work around 11am today. However, unknown to me, Heather had changed the schedule. So...I worked nearly a 9 hour shift today. I ended up staying later than I thought I had to stay originally. I hate it when they change the schedule and don't broadcast the fact that they did so.

It is not part of a New Year's Resolution, but I have been reading a 365 day devotion book designed for women since January 1st. Each entry has a bible verse at the top, a general summary of the point it is about, and usually some quote at the bottom. I like it so far. One of the entries from today (I had to catch up on some missed days) had to do with being cheerful in all situations. I can say that I failed today many times.

I cannot get away from BK even when I am at home. David Letterman is talking about their new cologne. All I have to say is the premise behind the cologne is gross and disturbing. I don't like smelling like fast food and grease...why would anyone willing buy a cologne that is supposed to smell like BEEF??? It's irrational and will not attract most women. I'm hear to "say" that outloud right now!

This entry is completely random and I realize that fact. I haven't been up to much besides church, work, and sleep. ONE wonderfully exciting thing that is recent is...KOINONIA IS BACK! EEEE.....EEE...EE...E!!! I'm so excited about that. Koinonia is my social outlet and fellowship support during the week. The 15th (January), I had a tea party at my house as a kick-off for Women's Ministry. One person (Yvette) showed up and she had to leave early so she could get up the next day for school (she's a teacher). It was someone who wouldn't be able to attend Women's Ministry anyway. So, it was a total bust (in a way). One of my other friends (Teara) dropped by earlier that day because we hadn't seen each other in a long time. She knew she wouldn't be able to attend the party also.

When Teara called me, I was pleasantly surprised. I was just cleaning my house like crazy and getting ready to bake some scones at the time. While she was here, about 4 cop cars came down my road and just sat there. Teara was afraid she was parked wrong or something. I don't have parking lines...it is a gravel road. Haha. I don't know specifically why the cops were there but one of my neighbors got led away in handcuffs. I'm not even kidding. That is probably the second most exciting thing to happen in my life recently.

My grandpa has been getting cancerous spots taken off of his ears, top of his head (in his small bald spot), and face recently. It is nothing serious to worry about. They are being removed by laser surgery and are not malignant. My sister heard about it for the first time tonight when I told her. Oops...

I tried to call my friend Lela yesterday. It was her 26th birthday. I guess her number has changed. I cannot reach her at the provided number anyway. At least I tried to call her...she cannot fault me for that.

Well, I'm going to leave here now. I'll be back sometime in the future. I cannot guarantee when I will return to write more. Haha. And that is "all she wrote".--Robyn
