Tonight, I decided, to go into town and to the local pub with some of my friends: Jess, Hannah, Phil, Tom and Hellie. Literally from seeing a facebook status from Jess saying they'd be there.
I ended up having a great time. Had a couple of drinks, including a Rhubarb and Custard flavour cider, which was INCREDBLE, even though I wasn't expecting it to be!
Hellie offered to give me a ride home in her car, instead of walking for over an hour or paying £12 for a taxi, which was really nice of her.
Myself and everyone (bar Jess) went to my house, and we chilled in the hallway, although Hellie and Hannah were freaking out over my house. They seemed to think it was perfection hahaha 
And then, the best part of tonight happened.
I sent Hellie a text, thanking her for the lift home.
I should mention, earlier in the evening, Hellie was upset because both her and Tom (her boyfriend) had recently lost their jobs. And I was there for her, gave her a cigarette and a drink to calm her down.
She thanked me for being there, and I of course told her that she was more than welcome, and that I'll always look out for her.
She then sent me the following text, which genuinely brought a tear to my eye.
"Aww sammy! You're a fantastic friend and I'll look out for you too you're like the sweetest guy I know and heck, if it weren't for you, then me and Tom probably wouldn't be together now, and I wouldn't be the person I am today. I love you <3 xxx"
I live for stuff like this. To hear that I mean that much to someone, and that I've genuinely had a positive impact on someone's life is nothing short of an extreme honour.
I love all of my friends so much. They are my world and my everything. Without them, I would literally be nothing. |
