April 27th is bad luck day

04/28/2010

Every birthday for the last three years have had something really bad happen. I'm done celebrating. Two years ago yesterday I started bleeding with my pregnancy, which led to me losing the baby July 9th. Last year I broke up with someone I really loved (not my ex husband, but a boyfriend) because I found out he was cheating on me, and yesterday Daniel wrecked my truck with me in it.

We are okay, the truck is not totalled that I know of. What happened was me and Daniel were on our way to work, on a road we drive EVERY DAY and he looked down at the spedometer. When he did that I notice he was running a stop sign to a busy intersection and I just non-cholantley said "Stop sign." He went "OH, shit!" And a Ford Focus hit our rear driver side tire sending the tire flying. We did something between and 180 and 360 on three wheels and came to a stop. Neither one of us had our seat belt on. I at first was trying not to spill the cup of soda I was holding, and then realized, "Duh, pitch it and hold on!" So I threw it on Daniels leg (lol) and grabbed the dash and door panel and just braced myself. Daniel hit his leg on the cupholder and broke it, he possibly smacked his head on the window. But we are fine, just sore.

The lady in the Focus was fine too. I ran over to her as soon as we came to a stop because I saw her with her back door open, assuming there was a baby in the car. She had about a 7 or 8 year old girl with her, both of which were okay. She was pretty pissed that some asshole wrecked her brand new car, and I can understand that.

We have full coverage on the truck (we have a lein on it) so we are working with Progressive to get it "diagnosed" so to speak. So far they are being super awesome with us and working pretty fast. We just got the truck moved to a body shop today. I'm kinda hoping the frame is bent and declared totalled, I'm just going to buy a cheaper car with good gas mileage. But probably not our luck, lol. A total loss would also get us out of paying $1000 deductable, it would be covered by gap insurance.

Oh, and Daniel was found at fault of course. We just straight up admitted that. We weren't going to try to screw the other lady over because it was a dumb move. The cop was so nice, he could have written Daniel so many tickets, but only gave him a $112 ticket for disregarding a stop sign. I could have hugged the man. He said he could tell we were having a shitty day already, so he was not going to make it any worse.

Among all of the excitement yesterday I didn't think I needed to go to the baby doctor. I checked for spotting and bleeding. Had no cramping. Then later that night I decided to look it up online, and a lot of sites said that even if it was a minor fender bender I should call doc because it could cause placental abruption. So I called him this morning and they had me come in to moniter the heartbeat and check contractions. Well, the little booger kept kicking and moving around and we couldn't keep his heartbeat under that moniter. We finally got it to stay and the doctor told me we were good. Besides the fact I have an infection. I guess like a urinary tract infection. I also have some minor bleeding but they are not concerned. And my scheduled appointment is in a few days so I will get more info then.

Other than that, everything is good. We are broke, in debt, and have no vehicle. But we are all alive.
