photos and captions!

06/18/2010

Hey all!

Have once again been told off for not doing an entry... This week has been a bit of a fake holiday, because my Mother has gone to Italy, my sister has come home and I've had a couple of days off. It's been quite fun. I'm meant to be making and recording a presentation right now, but I'm majorly lacking motivation, as usual, and have only chosen the colour of my slides and the written the title so far.

Anyhoo, I just copied some photos from my camera on to my computer so I thought I'd show you some, as mentioned in my previous entry. They are from the last month (and don't feature me I'm afraid!). (You may have seen a couple of these if you follow me on Twitter, but most haven't been taken off my camera before.)

This is an amazing flower we have in the garden. It's like a pompom! That purple ball is about the size of my open hand. It doesn't smell as nice as it looks, alas (it's an ornamental onion and smells onion-y!).

I went to a flower meadow a few weeks ago and there was an area that was just a carpet of Forget-Me-Nots.

LOOK UP! (This is a game we used to play at uni where when you are outside walking somewhere if someone shouts "Look up!" you have to stop walking and immediately look up to see what you can see.)

I have a thing about country gates at the moment. I want to make a photo album just of gates. Don't pretend you didn't already know I was odd.

As per my sunset photo collection, here are the latest additions to the album.

These are some new boots I bought on the Office sale at www.office.co.uk! They are so cute!

New shoes I bought not in a sale on the Office website!

This is a very pointless photo because you can't see anything, but I'm showing it to you anyway. I have a serious ant infestation in my composter. I've had to cover it in ant powder, which now means I can't use any compost for a month because I might accidentally poison my veg.

Yesterday was my main fake!holiday day, and Claire and I had a proper picnic, with pork pies and cloudy lemonade and strawberries and cucumber sandwiches! I forgot to take photos after this first one though, so this is my only evidence!

Right, I have to go now. It's time for Serbia v. Germany. Oh, that's the other thing - because it's the World Cup and they are playing three matches a day I basically have no free time ever, and on top of this Wimbledon starts next week! So, if I disappear again for a few weeks you know it's because I'm glued to the TV with a movie bag of Doritos!

(France have been epically shite so I am now just supporting Serbia and Holland. The former because I drew them in the office pool and the latter because I always support Holland and they generally don't suck, unlike France. I AM DENYING MY HERITAGE FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER.)

I don't watch soccer so I have no comment on the world cup stuff, though actually this technically qualifies as a comment about the subject. lol.

Strawberry and cucumber sandwiches sound yummy. I would have never thought to put them together.

And do I seriously have to stalk you on facebook about bloop entries every week? Is that what it takes? Cuz I'll totally do it if it means you give me something to read!

you live in such a beautiful area, I wish I had those kind of walking tracks here. Where I am, it's all gumtrees.
