So i never did find that restart button. 
In december last year I found out why Will didnt get any of his paycheques in the end... He too was having his own issues with a drug addiction. He was addict to painkillers - Oxycontin - which stemmed from his leg break a few years ago. I knew that his leg still bothered him but not to the point he was illegally buying and using painkillers. The one thing I remember him saying was "i was so glad to leave you, because then you really had no idea how much drugs i was doing".
This along with the money issues ran its course of a couple months, until feb when he decided he really missed me and was coming back to the city I was in and wanted to be with me. "no" was the answer he got... It became an everyday conversion to the point it was agreed that we could get back together under one condition, he had to go to rehab. He said no and we stopped talking.
Then one day on Feb 10, I got a call in regards to me being his emergency contact. Guess who admitted them selves into rehab! He stayed there for the course of 45 days then moved back to the city with me. He stayed at my parents place with us until he found a job here.
