Migraines, anyone?

10/18/2009

I have been sick since.... Ummm Jan this year, with an "infection in my face". I have been on 6 antibotics and 2 hospital trips, one for having an allergic reaction to Biaxain (sp?) and the other to drain out my face, sinuses mainly.

My symptoms included, sore throat, runny nose, facial pain, watery/itchy eyes, Red eyes (all the time), Sore ears, headache or migraine (about every 2 days) and just a "blah" feeling altogether. Everytime I went they just said it was still the infection and allergies, they were going to try something new. Never once even after a suggestion, of maybe its "something" else and maybe I should get some blood work done but they did they ever send me? no...

Nothing was working and I was getting so frustrated about it. So my mom recommended for me to try a naturopath, just see if they could recommend something to this illiness, I have. I went to see this nice guy (a few months ago) and we chatted a few minutes and went over some things, about why I was there to see him, what I was concerned about and so forth. He asked for symptoms and i told him and he looked at me and said are you getting migraines almost daily by any chance? and I do. He smiled and said you arent sick, you only feel sick, Well you are sick but not with this 'infection' you have been told you have. From your Dry Lips I can tell you what you have, But we will send you for a blood panel to make sure.

So I went back to him on the following Monday night, and he smiles and says I was right, you arent sick with an infection. If any of the doctors would have done a blood panel to begin with you would know what you have from that. I suffer from a deficiency of vitamin B2 (riboflavin). Which also means, IM NOT ALLERGIC TO THE SUN!!! Yes! Lack of Riboflavin makes you sensitive to bright light, with your eyes and skin causing rashes and sometimes blisters.

He said if I have been 'allergic' to the sun since I was little, I have been suffering for years and years from it and just recently has it gotten alot worse!!

Needless to say im excited, I was so happy I cried to hear this. I, who have been sick for years and years, could have been solved by one blood test, which was never done. Because I was missing one mineral in system.... I will take the bright yellow/orange urine in replace of being sick, anyday.

I just wanted to share this with you guys because it was something so easily missed that could have been fixed along time ago.

Since then I have had 2 migraines!!! Yay!!

Wow, it's scary that doctors can be so wrong sometimes! I mean, yes, they are human and humans make mistakes, but dang. Well, I'm glad you found out what is really wrong with you and hope you get to feeling a lot better, soon!

*Random noter* Saw your entry in a diary circle and thought I'd stop by. I'm so glad you are getting some answers. It's hard not knowing what's going on and not knowing how to fix it. I hope things continually get better for you!
