April 18, 2009 - Le sigh

11/15/2009

Another wonderful day for me, this one was.

I remember the phone call at work that I got and the call I was asked to make. **sigh** It was about my grandpa.

The day before he came down with the "flu" and the dr sent him home and thought nothing more of it, he was a high risk patient because he had a triple bypass 2 years prior and was on blood thinners. He was terrible ill, my grandmother said he was throwing up every 3-5 mins and she something wasnt right and it was more then the flu, she was right. The hospital did a MRI with in about 15 minutes of his arrivial and with in 5 minutes of the mRI he was being loaded into the helicoptor and flown into one of the major hospitals for the brain trauma ICU, he was having a stroke.

He was admitted. They couldnt give him blood clotting meds to stop the bleeding from above said medical conditions. They read him his last rights and he kept living. He was doing better the blood stopped and then they were able to go in and drain it. After about 6 hours of it draining, he woke up! He was kept in ICU for 2 weeks later then he was sent back to his small town hospital to the regular hospital!

Life was good again.
