Blessings, Boasts and Thoughts (January 12th, 2009)

01/12/2009

Blessings
"The three foundations of learning: Seeing much, suffering much, and studying much." -- Catherall

The things you’re grateful to have
- A class to take
- A grammommy
- The rest of my family
- Supportive friends
- Love
- Food to eat
- Emails from my mommy
- Conversations with my dad
- An upbeat mood (finally)
- Opiates
- Lots of tea
- Hydro
- Heat
- Internet

The things you’re grateful NOT to have
- A funeral to go to
- To walk to school
- Spend the entire day in bed
- An eviction notice
- Sepsis in my leg (I'm pretty sure)

Boasts
How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world." -- Anne Frank

- I actually went the whole day without venting? *thinks* Oh.... maybe not, but it was really close...
- I cleaned the bathroom floor and sink and around the bottom of the toilet
- I stopped cleaning
- I didn't push myself too hard
- I ate and took my meds
- I did my morning routine
- 100 people joined my facebook event for Flylady's b-day
- I am a dork
- I am doing my evening routine
- I am going to do some more homework before I pass out

Thoughts
"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."
-- Ralph Waldo Emerson

1. The things you didn’t accomplish today
I didn't get any exercise done. *sigh* I'm just not up to it. I didn't really get connected with Jonas either.

2. Think about one of your fears
I'm afraid I can't work.

3. Think of a way to face that fear
I don't know this one either. I'm just diligently avoiding thinking about the issue, basically. I usually find that if I give myself no choice, then I pull something off. It's just a matter of how much I pay for it.

4. One new thing you’d like to do
Touch my toes.

5. What you don’t like about yourself
I'm still too segmented.

6. How you can change what you don’t like about yourself
Keep bringing my life in a place where I can be 100% myself without compromising my safety. Keep working on restoring my honour, so I can look myself in the face again. Stop allowing segmentation. Because it is a choice, and it's one I'm tired of the consequences of, whatever good it does in the short term.

7. Your greatest qualities
I'm pretty awesome. I'm good with kids. I'm good with people in general, since so many of them seem so attached to me. I'm persistent. I'm accommodating. I'm funny. I'm silly. I'm pretty self-aware. I'm a good driver.

8. What the future holds
My second class, and the rest of term. Going back to work, eventually. My doctor's appt and uncomfortable discussions about pain management, surgeons, gyns and welfare. Getting my disability paperwork back from the doctor. Filing the disability paperwork. Surgey, please Jebus? Recovery. Thumb wrestling the ministry until they let me get my driver's licence. Getting my van back, I do hope. A job that pays, that I enjoy. Repainting the apartment. Spring. Working in the lawn? A day without pain medication. A mommy blog.

9. Your life goals
A house. The ability for independence even if I chose not to live it. A job I love that pays. Political office? A meeting with Justin Trudeau. Children of my own. A hedge maze. A herb garden. Security that everyone I love, knows, in their gut, because of my actions. Freedom on the open road, with a van I lovingly overhauled. Good posture. A body that I lovingly overhauled, that openly expresses my every emotion. The ability to defend myself in most situations. A warmth of soul that enriches everyone who touches my life. Respect, responsibility, and no regrets. A legacy. An intact soul. (I like this one, so I leave it today)

10. You only have one life
So love the one you got, 'cause you might run over or you might get shot
