An 18-year-old probationary driver has lost his licence after he was caught speeding just 45 minutes after passing his driving test.
Police said the Melbourne man was clocked travelling at 154 km/h in a 110 km/h zone on the Hume Freeway in Benella, north of Melbourne, at 4pm on Wednesday afternoon. When asked why he was travelling at such a dangerous speed, the man told police his 20-year-old passenger was feeling unwell and the pair were in a rush to get home. The driver lost his licence for six months and was fined $421, police said. article here haha, fail. i've driven there before. apparently 110 isn't fast enough for some people. i'm so glad the cops caught him. clearly shouldn't have been given his license. dumbass. |

I love it when people actually get in trouble for doing stuff wrong. Obviously that kid needs a little more practice with safe driving...

i see so many p-platers doing such dangerous shit and there's never a cop around to catch them. not sure this will curb this moron's behaviour, but at least his dangerous driving won't be on the roads for six months.

I doubt he'll learn anything from it. Chances are when he gets back on the road, he'll be driving the same way. It's kind of sad, really.

Oh deer. sad thing is I see that all the time. I barely dare do 75 in a 70mph (110km) b/c I'm terrified of getting a ticket, but damn, tourists down here are in a hurry to get to the beach. xD

What's worrying is that if he was just given his licence and already not respecting the law 45 minutes into it.. who's to say he's not going to drive just because he doesn't have his licence ?
