I have a theory, I have no idea if it's true and I have no stats to offer, but here goes.....
It seems to me that dog's (& cats?) don't live as long as they used to. That they seem to be getting all these different sicknesses, it's not uncommon for one to have their family pet on medication as they get older. I believe this is do to the cutting corners on their food. (some do go with the all natural food, and pay that extra money, but not the majority of pet owners)
This can be seen as a whole other industry, pharma-corps for pets. I bet, if we dont already, pet health care insurance may be in the near future.
Now some may laugh, and think this whole theory of less-healthy food, leads to vet bills and pills for fluffy. But isn't this same scenario happening to us humans, only it's no longer cute and silly.
My dog's aren't to big on their vegetables. but charlie will chew the crap out of - the phone, shoes, remote controls. just about anything one leaves on the coffee table -it will be HIS ;D
tore up a box of crayons once to. oh oh and just the other day he chewed up my sunglasses grrrrr!!!
