Acidfairy is wrong, its not interopretation, religious scriptures require muslim women to cover their heads.

That's actually untrue. Nowhere does it actually state they have to cover their heads, and a friend who IS Muslim said she also agrees with Acid Fairy - and she wears a headscarf! Whatdoyaknow.

She has clearly never read the Sunnah, which states a muslim woman must always cover her head in public, not to is to the uttermost disrespect to Allah.

Honestly, the ignorance on here astounds me sometimes. They didn't object so as to make a scene. That's a ridiculous suggestion which just shows how little understanding you have about religion. They objected because they were being asked to do something which went against their religious beliefs. In a country like the united states where people supposedly have the right to religious freedom, that, to me, is unnaceptable, and I think they were absolutely justified in refusing to comply.

Agree to disagree, since we have different beliefs, and the fact that you are one of those people who no matter how much I tell you I do know, youre still going to say I dont and am ignorant (because youre right and I'm (we're) wrong, obviously).

It's got nothing to do with being right or wrong. Ignorance is just ignorance, and unfortunately your comments ARE ignorant.

Duh, that wasnt the jist of my post. You completely miss the points. That's all I have to say, as I said what I did and I still believe what I said to be true/what I believe. So tough if you think it's ignorant for stating my opinion, from experience.

Acid Fairy must have had a negative experience with a headcovering woman. I can see no other reasonable explanation for someone as angry as she seems.

If you don't like arguing perhaps you should learn to be a little more tolerant of people who are different to you.

I don't understand why she was arrested. She was LEAVING. They said she couldn't go in with the headscarf on, so she was going to leave. So what if she was upset about and said something as she was LEAVING.

There was no reason for her arrest, so there's nothing to try and comprehend. I find it hard to believe that anyone would agree with it when she never entered the courtroom to begin with, with the problem being she couldn't wear it in said courtroom. She was told that she would have to take it off to enter THE COURTROOM, not where ever she was right then, disagreed, turned to leave, yet was arrested for...refusing to take the hajib off before ENTERING the courtroom, which she clearly wasn't going to do at that point.

Kelley Jackson, a spokeswoman for Georgia Attorney General Thurbert Baker, said state law doesn't permit or prohibit head scarfs. ''It's at the discretion of the judge and the sheriffs and is up to the security officers in the court house to enforce their decision,'' she said.

So she was arrested because they felt insulted that she would rather leave peacefully than comply. Someone couldn't handle the blow to his ego. That's it. No wonder it was so damn easy for her to be released. This is complete B.S. and I'm glad she's out.

I think the one thing that DID NOT work in her favour when she was leaving was the fact that she uttered an expletive. She had already refused a rule, and that was her response/retaliation. Which is ALSO contempt of court.

Unfortunately when it comes to the law, and passing through security into a court, on to a plane, wherever - if you are asked to removed something, you do it.

My views - she shouldn't have to serve jail time. No.
However. If i have to remove my hat, my belt and my footwear to walk in to my local court, and then remain with my hat off because THAT is what the rules of the court are. Then I aint going to argue.
No I understand there is a difference between hat and headscarf and the religious connotations associated, but if you want to live in a country where the majority of people do not follow the muslim religion then you will have to expect to come across barriers where at times, you have to abide by the laws of that country.
