Eyebrow piercing growing out. Advice needed.

I've had my eyebrow pierced for almost 4 years. I'm really attached to it, and I love it.

I just noticed in the last few days, that it's almost grown out. It's really close to the surface now and it's probably going to fall out soon.

I have 2 options here.

Option 1: Go to Snapdragon (piercing & tattoo place) and get them to take the old ring out, and get a new ring in right beside where the old one was.

Option 2: Leave the old one in and get a second ring in beside the old one. So I'd have 2 rings in. Then once the old piercing falls out, I'll just be left with the one.

I'd like opinions on this. I am leaning towards the double eyebrow piercing just because I don't want to let go of my first piercing. haha

And please, don't leave replies saying I should just take it out altogether and not have an eyebrow piercing. Not an option for me, as I love them too much.

And I can't get it pierced on the other side of my face because I have a madonna piercing on that side. It would look silly to have an eyebrow piercing and lip piercing on the same side.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I had this happen to me. I just took it out and left it out. And now I have a nasty scar there.

If you get one really close to the one thats currently growing out, the new one is more likely to as well, if I were I would get a new piercing on the same side but a little further away and have the old one taken out.

I had this happen to me. First time within 6 months, the piercing started rejecting like that. I took it out, let it heal and then got another one, right next to the old one. A year later the same thing happened. So I did the same deal with the last time. Only it started to reject after...shit I'd had it for quite some time. Then, as much as I loved my eyebrow piercing (It was my favorite after all) I just took it out. There's only so much that you can do and I'd had it pierced three times.

I say take it out and let it heal. Then get it re-pierced with the placement right next to the old one and see how that works. If it rejects again however, chances are very slim at a third one staying in, unfortunately.

Some people just aren't meant to have eyebrow piercings :( like me :(.

Your piercing is rejecting. You need to take it out, let it heal, and get it re-pierced :(

Yes, I need to. The only issue that I've got now, is that the ring I have in is a CBR so I really can't get it out myself. I have to wait until Monday, until the piercing place opens. I'm pretty sure it will fall out before then though..

You can, I had one of those in my lip, you just pull the ball in and out as you please.

I'm not strong enough to pull it apart enough to get the ball out. I'd need pliers, but the ring is so close to the surface now(I can definitely see it through my skin) that I'm afraid it will rip out.

I had the same thing happen to mine, I had a bar in tho, so it was easily pulled out. Let it heal for a while then get it re-pierced and it'll be fine. It happens a lot with eyebrow piercings.

Thats rubbish, they just push apart with a tiny amount of pressure, all you do is push the ball away from the ring, or put your fingernail between the ring and the ball.

Some CBRs are incredibly difficult to deal with, so some people really do need to go to a piercer to get them removed.

Well yours must have come out really easy then, you were lucky. I've tried to pull the ball out, but I can't. I've tried to pull the ring apart to get the ring out, but I can't. It's in way too tight. I've even tried with some pliers and I couldn't get it because it's so tight and it was going to rip out.

I called and left a message at the piercing place and they said I need to come in and get it removed with their ring opener pliers.

yeah, i had one of the tough cbrs in my lip ring. i used pliers. ;D it was horrible.

anyhow, i'd recommend taking it out, letting it heal (or getting the second one) then getting the original spot repierced. rejection and migration are far less likely to be issues when the piercing goes through scar tissue. that's what i had to do with my nipples - they migrating something awful the first time i had them done, within the first three months, but this time around they're healing up just fine.

With nipple piercings it often makes your nipple grow long and thin, weird.

i've never heard of that except in cases of people stretching the piercings. personally, i found that so painful in my ear piercings that i couldn't even IMAGINE doing it to my nipples. *covers boobs* ouch!

I had the top of my ear pierced, the needle didn't hurt but the ring going through did, the most painful one I've had is my bottom lip pierced, but then it was just sharp a second.

The only problem with piercings I have had was with my second earlobe holes, they both rejected...that was gross. My cartilage piercing has done just fine and actually did not hurt at all. Let your eyebrow heal, then get another one a bit over I guess, and maybe with a ring that is not so hard to remove...?
