Only because I've instructed him to do so Filthyface Lauren! Mordecai is an awesome (but needy) cat!

Oh, I agree. He's an awesome cat. Just saying.. he wouldn't hesitate to scratch my eyes out if presented with the possibility! ;)

I also agree with the water bottle thing. I believe declawing is inhumane mostly because if that cat were to ever accidently get outside she couldn't defend herself. Plus it's removing a part of her toe bone. I personally don't agree with it, but it really is to each is own. You can also check these out.

I think it's less expensive then declawing and maybe more effective than a water bottle.

Good luck!

My cat did that. Once I was sitting on my computer chair and she thought my innocent twirling was cause for a game, and leapt upon my bare legs and dragged her whole weight down them. THE PAIN WAS RIDICULOUS.
She grew out of it though, once I'd had her spayed and started letting her outside. I wouldn't declaw a cat, my cat gets in lots of fights and she'd probably be killed if she didn't have some line of defence.
I would use the water spraying, although to be honest, I just avoided her when she was in a clawy mood!
