apparently its her 3rd csection according to random people here:
http://www.homeschoolreviews.com/forums/4/thread.aspx?id=52864

i also remember reading somewhere she had trouble getting an OB for her last one? so i don't know who shes found now!
it must be awful for her body to just go from pregnancy to breastfeeding like that. she doesnt even follow natural child spacing as far as i know she weans them early, otherwise you'd think breastfeeding would have some kind of suppression on her ovulation.
god knows what her pelvic floor is like :o0! i hope she does her exercises :S

It's actually her 2nd c-section. She's delivered three children by c-section, but the first c-section delivery was twins, so it's really only two c-sections even though there were three BORN by c-section.. did I make sense? Lol.

She's had more than 1 previous C-Section. That's why she had a hard time finding an OB/GYN for her 17mos old daughter. Nobody would take the risk of a vaginal birth after that many C-Sections.

I see the first article I read was wrong. USA Today also says it was her 3rd c-section.

More power to them! She isn't just having babies to not take care of them.
I think it's funny, though, that there is a limit to how many animals you can have, but not a limit to how many children.

I just search for 'Duggar' on Facebook and there's an Anti-Duggar page. And they all bitch about how the kids are home schooled and about the clothes they wear. I personally don't see the problem? If they want to live a sheltered life, then that's up to them. I sometimes wish I could hide away from the 'real world'!
I just couldn't believe everyone on this group judging them... not everyone has to live the way society tells you to. And hey, they work as a little village. I think it's cool. It's no different than times before birth control, when families that size would be pretty normal. My great auntie had 14 kids not too long ago. And in families those sizes, the older kids helping out with the younger kids is normal.
It just really got to me and needed to vent somewhere lol.

I HATE that kind of thing.
My dad's mother had fourteen kids, and my mom's mother had 16.
It's appropriate back in the day, yet its so blasphemous now?

I hate these people.
They make it work, just like most of our grandparents did. People are such asshats.

Thing is, they are not "hiding" away from the world. They just home school due to their religious beliefs and also because the schools in Arkansas sucks big balls! They own a very successful real estate business where they live and well liked in the community.

All I have to say is she must be stretched out big enough to fit a freight train through. I don't know how the pelvic floor muscles can recover unless she's doing like, 1,000 kagles a day....

Well as soon as a child turns four they are made into the 'parents' of the younger members of the family, so she doesn't even have to get off her arse at night.

You have no idea what you're talking about so you should shut up. first off, they are not made into 'parents' when they are four. They are given chores and responsibilities when they are four. That could entail anything from helping change diapers up to helping with the dishes and yard work. I mean, heaven forbid these people should teach their kids a bit of work ethic and responsibility, ya know.

Michelle works extremely hard and has an amazing relationship with all of the kids, who are all great kids, honor students, and hard working.

If you don't know the family, you really should shut the hell up about them. Trust me, they are TWICE the people you could ever DREAM of being.

When I first moved to Arkansas from Michigan, I had planned to move to Springdale, which is near where they live. We used their real estate company to try and find a house. They were extremely nice and really worked hard to find us a place.

I was given chores at the age of 4 too. Like making my bed. Or help take the washing down to the laundry. Or help take dishes out of the dishwasher and put them in to drawers and cupboards I could reach. I think there is nothing wrong with teaching your children to be children. Nothing at all!

You won't find better-behaved children than the Duggars. They seem like a very respectable family and I admire them very much. I agree with Music God. And for all the griping people like to do about "tax dollars" and "welfare" (which they do not use!), people fail to realize that they're actually bringing more taxpayers into the world. No?
