Well if you are on my friends list you know by now I had a miscarriage in January. I had what's called a "spontaneous abortion." The reason I am asking this in the forums is to get a wider range of answers. But I had a D&C done on Feb. 25th. I haven't had my period yet. When should I expect it? I have a doctor's apt on the March 26th, but I just wanted to know now. Thanks in advance.

im so sorry to hear. what exactly is a D&C?
ive heard that so many times and i've always wondered.
have you tried WebMD for any advice?

the D and C is when they remove what's needed to be removed from the uterus because there has been a miscarriage.

Yea I have been all over the internet looking for answers, but it's such a wide range of answers. I was just wanting advice from someone that might have had one done. A D&C is a type of surgery where they use suction to remove any leftover tissue out of you. You don't get cut or anything.

After my D&C, I bled for about one week, then a month later I started my period. Not everyone is the same though. Each person's body will handle it differently.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I've had many, I know how painful they can be, both physically and emotionally.

I hated them calling it a spontaneous abortion.
Anyway... everybody is different, and takes a different amount of time to revocer. After mine I didn't have a period for nearly 3 months.

from what my friends have told me, your period should resume a normal schedule after a month after your D&C. but, everyone is different.
my friend had 2 miscarriages and had 2 D&C's. she said your cycle should resume about a month later.

Why don't you phone your doctor?

Because I had it in my head today and his office is closed on Wed.'s. I just wanted some advice from women that might have experienced it.

I think mine came about 6 weeks later.

I had one after losing my daughter cause my placenta wouldnt come away, i bled on and off for three weeks then about 2 months later got my period :-)
