Lighter colours apparently also make a property sell faster, and for a better price, if you're considering selling it in the future!
You could do a google image search for 'ivy on white background', and then change the colour in the search to all the colours you're considering. But of course bear in mind that you are decorating a kitchen, not a webpage! ;D And also not a bedroom, or a living room - a kitchen is a place where you prepare (and possibly eat) food, so you want colours that will enhance that experience. And this will be quite personal to you. For instance, I personally like fresh, light, natural colours for a kitchen, because that somehow creates for me an atmosphere of light, healthy eating. I never like those black shiny kitchens - black and shiny always seems more about technology than food! And I wouldn't want a very stimulating or intense colour, because that could get overpowering, and detract from the food. But you have to think about what you personally are comfortable with, remembering you'll be surrounded by that colour while preparing food, and whatever else you do in your kitchen. Don't just randomly select a colour because someone has suggested it! ;D
