Freud was all about sex. Everything had to do with sex. That's where we get the term "anal retentive" and all that jazz. He credits the early developmental years of a boy to his mother, and a girl to her father. He was very much about th Oedipal complex and the Electra complex, of men wanting to mate with a woman just like their mother, and likewise a daughter/father.
I've got a ton of books on Freudian theories, and they're really interesting. You should pick some up at the library, I think you might find them interesting, too. :)

The Electra Complex was actually coined by Jung, based on Freud's Oedipus Complex. Gosh, I listened way too hard in my Psych classes ;D
