How long someone stays on your page.

I think it would be a good idea for the Xtra users to be able to see how long a diarist stays on each entry under the "Who's Viewed It?" link.

It would help the owner of the diary to figure out who's actually reading their entries and who's just clicking through. It would also help target the creepy lurkers... especially on picture entries.

I disagree. Some people read faster than others, so determining whether or not someone stayed on your page long enough to read it doesn't make sense to me. Also, If you click on "random", does it always take the reader to the "random" diarist's frontpage or does it some times direct the reader to the "random" diarist's latest entry?

What is a "lurker" exactly? If a reader thumbs through your diary, reads the pages, or reviews the pics posted in your entries, but doesn't comment at all, does that automatically make that person a "lurker"?

Personally, I feel that Xtra's "Who Viewed It" is just fine as is.

I would also like to remind you that if you are by chance concerned about "lurkers", you do have the option to change your privacy settings so that your diary isn't available to everyone. :)

I disagree. Hell, I even disagree with "Who's Viewed It," except for catching stalkers. Otherwise it's nothing but an ego inflation. Same for the people who ask for comments.

Dude, I don't even USE my who's viewed it.
It's just sitting there looking all pretty.

Once in a blue moon I look at it.
Not like it matters though, since I'm on friends only :P

I have the bad habit of clicking random, then wandering off to do something else. Doesn't mean I'm sitting there plotting your demise for half an hour; it just means I got distracted and left.

If lurkers worry you, you may want to go friend's only.

I would look like a weirdo, because I read very fast, but I also leave my tab open and forget about it, so it would show me looking at one entry for an hour, and another for 30 seconds.

Yep, I do the same thing. Alt tab out while in-game and surf. Or while I am working or doing stuff around teh house. I tend to walk away and leave the browser open.

Far as this possible feature goes... I doubt it will happen. The coding alone would be a headache. :-/

Who's viewed it is enough. You don't need an exact time how long they were looking at your entry. If you have concerns about it then set your diary to friends only. I sometimes read a diary and click on another tap to view another site and forget about it.

I dont DEMAND comments, I ask nicely "PLEASE, leave comments if you view" it is a request of courtesy, not a demand. Its not like I am going to only let the people who comment on my pics be the only ones on my friends list. I am sure more people than just the ones who comment view my pics, it doesnt mean I am going to block everyone else for not commenting or something.
