I am doing Oklahoma! with my drama group, and on Thursday we are having an 'American-style buffet' before Christmas. We all have to take some food but I don't know what to take. What would you guys suggest?

pretty much anything that's horrible for you :D So just bring McDonalds! ;)

Although I can say I've never felt more American than when I was at a baseball game eating a Dome Dog (it's what they call hotdogs at the Metrodome stadium) with a bag of chips and a miller lite. lol.

For a bit of fun social commentary, get pizza, chinese food, spaghetti, hot dogs, hamburgers, and french fries.

This is basically American food, yet none of this stuff is American.

Haha the great thing about that is that apple pie originates from England ;D

I thought both foods actually originated in their roots from Germany, as many German and Dutch immigrants were the backbone of the modernization of America.

According to the almighty Google, the first known recipe for apple pie is from England in 1381, but it is still being debated if it first originated in either England or Holland. Hot dogs are German.

Gosh, sounds like a cookout instead of a near holiday buffet! ;D

Potato salad is indeed what is good. I've had more British people enjoying McDonalds than actual Americans... from my very small sample of fiends it's more convenient. ;)

What else... hm. Corn on the cob. That's good. Still going with the cookout but hey!
