Put a warm wet wash cloth on your ear and down your throat right below your ear will help it drain. Or you can put some rice in a sock and heat up the sock with rice for a minute or two in the microwave and it will make it stay warm for a while if you don't have a heating pad. Also sleeping on the side that has the ear infection helps it also, and so does motrin. If you have any decongestant medicine might help relieve some of the pressure in your ear.
I can understand you not wanting to go on the antibiotics, but if you already have such a problem with them I probably wouldn't mess around with it so you don't get a really bad one.
I got the tubes in my ears and tonsils out when I was 6 too! One of my tubes fell out, and the other one they took out because it was blocked in with so much ear wax. My tonsils haven't grown back yet though. I do have a lot of problems with my ear still, but I haven't had an ear infection since then.
Do you have allergies? I have allergies and I was around a lot of second hand smoke, and now that I have moved out of my parents house my ear and throat problems aren't as bad anymore.
