I spent several hours at work earlier, I was in a handgun training class. We started with nine people in the class but during the morning classroom session one of the guys had some kind of seizure and passed out. We had to call an ambulance and have him transported, he was awake and responsive by the time they transported him but it was pretty scary.
After we took the written test at the end of the classroom session then went out to the firing range for the shooting test. I shocked myself, I had the best score of anybody who took the class today. I think I had only one hit outside the 9 ring out to 20 yards, I had three or four outside and one no point hit at 25 yards. Beginner's luck, I haven't fired a pistol in 30 years and until today I've never fired more than a dozen or so rounds through one. Here's my target. I only had to get 35 in the black to pass, I had all 50 in the black.
I had to be fingerprinted after the class, one of the things required for my concealed carry permit is to submit fingerprints for their records. I still haven't gotten the ink off my fingertips, I even used fingernail polish remover to no avail. Maybe it will wear off by tomorrow. |
