a workmate's epic fail. | 08/03/2009 |
I just want to share the epic fail my workmate made when he volunteered to book three hotel rooms and three return train tickets for himself and two other co-workers for a training course in London this week.
The course is over two days and they wanted to stay over in a hotel for one night. They were going to take the train there and back but it turns out that there is some strike action affecting the line to Norwich, so they're driving instead.
My workmate is crazy to think that he could get three hotel rooms, in the same hotel, with parking and breakfast included for anything below £100 each - especially three days before they're due to check in. He was also looking at hotels close to the training venue in Holborn, so around the TheatreLand area - no go! He's crazy!
I recommended a hotel site to book with, he phoned them and dismissed them as rubbish. It's a website.....try doing a search! lol. We work for an internet company, you'd think he'd know about these things!
And the train tickets thing! Trying to get cheap train tickets just days before you want to travel is absurd!
Don't people know that if you book a training course one month in advance then it's safe to book the accommodation and travel tickets at the same time, to save on costs? And these are the same people who complain when the bonus pot is sabotaged by high company expenditure! They shoot themselves in the foot really. Idiots! |
