I feel sad because, like a lot of people right now, I feel like I'm only truly appreciating his music now that he's gone. His music is sensational and the circus that surrounded his personal life totally eclipsed how great he was as a musician.
He tried to change the world through his music with songs such as 'Earth Song' and 'Heal the World'. Nothing has changed since those songs were released and that was 20 years ago! He believed in the notion of world peace and many ridiculed him for it - it's sad.
I'm going to go and enjoy the music, because it's all we have left. ♥
