What's going on with Dad
This is the email I got from my mom on Tuesday:

Dad is in the hospital. He fell the Sat after Thanksgiving & sustained a huge hematoma on his knee. Now he has a cellulitis in that leg. His blood cultures are negative & after 24 hr on IV antibiotics his leg is looking better. He is on pain medication. He is in Good Sam & he has his cell phn with him. They are doing some cardiac stuff because both legs are swollen & have changed his blood pressure meds. He may be there until the weekend.

And then I got this on Wednesday:

Jim's leg looked better last night, still blistered but less red, & both legs are less swollen. He is complaining of the # of bathroom trips. The first 4-5 steps on that leg are painful, but once he gets going he does pretty well. He took pain med only twice yesterday. The IV antibiotics are continuing. He had an echocardiogram on Mon but results were still pending last evening. His blood pressure is doing well with the change in meds. His cell phn is dead today until I get there with the charger but you can call him at (XXX) XXX-XXX, Room XXX. Stefan called him last evening & he enjoyed the visit.Take care, I'll keep you posted. He may be able to come home Fri. Keep him in your prayers.

And this is today's update:

Still in the hospital today & may not be out on Fri. I thought his leg looked better Tues evening but yesterday (Wed evening) he had some new red areas. The MD took him off Ampicillin, gave him a one time dose of Vanco & started Flagyl & Cipro IV, so maybe today we will see some improvement. His bilateral leg edema is much better, he has lost 3 lbs of H20 out of his legs. He is getting cabin fever, he couldn't settle comfortably to anything last night. He kept fighting with the IV pole & the lines. He has a new rash on his back which may be from the new antibiotics or just contact with a plastic mattress. He is in a private room which is great. Keep him in your prayers.

So, now you know what I know. Keep your fingers crossed please and say a prayer or two. Thanks.
