You aren't worth it...

About a month ago my "father" decided to call me (after a blowout with mom's family and his bitch of a girlfriend) and basically told me that I was not doing anything with my life, fat, lazy and a terrible daughter. I cried my heart out that night; the next morning I was fine. I decided that he was wrong and didn't know shit about my life. He's been dubbed the sperm-donor since. I tell everyone and show everyone that it doesn't bother me anymore and that I just hate him...my secret is that it still hurts but I feel like I can't share that with anyone...not even my husband. I just want to hate him and not let him hurt me anymore. I FUCKING HATE YOU!!! Why does it still hurt?

I don't know why it still hurts. I guess if we had those answers, we could fix the hurt and not let it affect us. But it's so easy for people to say get over it or to try and get over it when you just wanted a normal father/daughter relationship. A father to protect you and to do things with you and teach you things, to walk you down the aisle. Believe me, I feel your pain.

It hurts because that sperm donor SHOULD be your dad. Unfortunately, not everyone who is capable of reproducing is also capable of being a good parent. You have every right to be hurt, and shouldn't have to hide it from anyone.

It still hurts because he is your father. My father is also named "sperm donor" as he just doesn't care. So what's the point in having a father? Just let him carry on what he is doing. Yes it will hurt but time is a great healer. If you know what he says is a lie, then rise above it, prove him wrong. It will make you a stronger person.

coz he's your dad and no one wants to hear their father tell them such shitty things.

fuck him, he's not dad if he'd going to do that.

you should tell your husband, you should be able to share everything with him.

I second that!

it always hurts when someone you thought had respect and care for you turns out that they had none at all. it'll take a while to get over it, but you'll be fine. love and respect yourself above all else.

♥Wow, he sounds like a total bastard for treating his own daughter like that. You're right, he's not worth it. Don't waste your time and energy hating him. Don't bother with him if he's not going to be civilised towards you.

♥PS: You should definitely talk to your husband about this- don't be afraid to be open with him. You need someone to talk to and make you feel better if this is hurting you so much!

I'd swallow my pride and talk to him. Ask him why he said those things. He may have been in a very emotional/stressful situation and accidentally took it out on you. You never know.
