I want a child

07/28/2011

I've been seeing my one and a half year old niece a lot over the past few months and it's made me come to realise that I want a son or daughter of my own. I love spending time with her, playing with her, helping her when she hurts herself. I think I'd be good at being a father.

However. I don't think I'd be good at being a single father. I would need someone to help me care for my child. Aye, there's the rub. I want a baby of my own but I don't think I could handle it alone.

I often wonder what it would be like if you and I had a child together. We agreed we would never have children. I come from a big family and I've always wanted to carry on my bloodline.

I wonder what he/she would look like...

People are entitled to a change of heart regarding children. Maybe you both were young when you said you never wanted children - perhaps it's time to bring up the conversation of having them again? Maybe she's changed her mind as well.

You should sit down and talk to her. Like Jellyka said, you've a right to have a change of heart. I wish you the best and if it is something she wants, I wish you both luck in getting what you want.

It is totally understandable, as you get older, to have a change of heart. 10 years ago, I never wanted another child - my daughter was more than enough for me. After I met my now Husband and we got married, etc. we decided we BOTH wanted children and we may even have one more. It's normal to change as you get older and that internal clock starts ticking and says "hey, have some kids!" - Talk with your significant other, and see what her thoughts are. Maybe she's had a change of heart too but is afraid to talk to you

If you have changed your mind, then you need to speak to the person you are with. People Change what they want in life, and sometimes that mean they have to change who they are with in order to be happy.

I think that's daft to agree to never have children. People change their minds. You need to talk to her and be honest.♥

talk to her? there are some couples who would give up the dream of children to be with someone - a friend's aunt did that married her husband she always wanted kids, so she never did but she used animals kinda like a replacement i assume - but very attached to the animals i know some people left thier partner because they didnt want to have kids with them sad... good luck

People are allowed to change as they grow older, it's natural to come to a different choice regarding children. Be honest, tell her that you want children now.

Don't do it. Kids are awesome... but it's not the same when you can't give them back.

IMO - people who truly love kids don't want to give them back.

I never want to give back the kids I watch and play with I love them even if they're little pains in the asses.

You'd also need a woman to give birth to the child.

If having a baby would make you a single father, then I assume you're not actually with this person you're addressing. In which case having a baby together probably wouldn't be the best idea.
