I know what you mean. I know I can be a hard person to deal with, and I've asked that people just tell me to my face "Robert, you're being an ass. Please stop now before you make a mess of things." instead of going behind my back and making drama or being rude and curt to me without giving me any rhyme or reason.

 I don't think you're a dick.
I think you're demanding to be respected as a person, and asking to have your feelings taken into consideration. I think that's only fair. I think it shows you're a mature adult, and you know what you want out of life, and that you respect yourself.
That takes a hell of a person to say that. I know it probably hurts. Hell, I've had this happen in past relationships of mine as well and it really, really sucked.

 In England, we have this antiseptic liquid called TCP which is amazing at drying spots up. If you have it/anything similar over there, I'd give it a go.
