Salvaged losses

09/09/2012

Well, it has been almost 11 years since the Two Towers in NYC were attacked. I know several people who have a birthday on that day. I could be cliche and say that I remember the most trivial things about that day when I heard the news. I won't subject you all to that useless rambling however. What have I been up to since June (to change the subject)? Well, I got into a car accident on July 21st. Some lady from Florida basically t-boned me at a residential intersection. She had the Yield sign but circumstances led her not to see me until she was right there...same time as me. There was no avoiding the accident. I have more damage on my car than it is worth and I had barely paid it off completely (a few months before). I am currently looking for another car. I don't work with the same client as in my last entry. I am within walking distance of my residence now. It came in handy considering I am basically on foot for most things. I think being on foot has helped me lose some weight too. There are other factors regarding my weight loss as well. Enough about that.

The client I was with back in June passed away on July 31st, so I would not have been there for long...one way or another. She is much better off now. She was ready to meet her maker and be with her deceased husband. Her mental and physical health was deteriorating beyond basic human comfort as well. So, she is in a MUCH better place and happier now. It was not a sudden event for her family or us caregivers. I was unable to go to her funeral due to transportation and time issues. The family knew my thoughts were with them and I sent a condolence card to them. I do miss working for the family. I am glad that I wasn't the one there when Deloris passed away though. I'm not sure how I would deal with that.

I have tried to meet up with one of my college friends since August. Well, really since June...if you count me contacting him. Haha. My sister thinks he is cute and I should try to get a date out of him. Silly girl, I don't see him that way. There was one time when I had a half crush on him but that was years ago. He has no idea either. Haha. He isn't bad looking but he isn't my type either. I am definitely not his type...from what I remember. Haha. On another note, there was a guy I kind of liked here but I was playing my cards close to the chest...like always. It's a good thing I did because he is dating some other girl now. I can't say I'm entirely happy about the situation but it is one I am used to experiencing. Such is life. I am not traumatized so all will be okay.

I have kept busy making cards for my home business, Robyn's Egg Designs. For those just tuning in, I do not design eggs. I handmake greeting cards. Each card is unique unto itself. The business might be undergoing some transition soon. I have a bead on possible profit due to selling my cards in a shop back home. I need to get ahold of the owner of the shop. I am going to canvas the downtown shops for other business endeavors regarding that issue. That means I will be making mass productions of cards as well as the ones I make for those I care about. I will be extremely busy with my cards. I can also get my former mime coach, Janet, to contact shops back home for me. So, great things are on my business horizon. I'm nervous about it but excited all the same.

I have other plans in my head regarding my sister, but I will not disclose them at this time. They are a matter of national (well, MY nation, haha) security.

Well, I am now leaving on a positive note. Everyone have an AWESOME day/night. --Robyn
