All she wants to do is dance...

06/15/2009

...and make romance.

Haha, I'm listening to the Coyote Ugly soundtrack and that is the song playing currently. It does make me want to dance right now. I'm too lazy to get up and dance so I'm dancing in my rocker/recliner. Haha.

So...what have I been up to lately?

Nothing much different from the norm really. I have been working (gasp..."I did what!") a lot. Ignore my smart-aleck remarks. I'm full of them tonight. Haha.

Last week was when my church held Vacation Bible School. I go to a church that has 2 services on Sundays. At each service, at least 1,000 people attend. Thus, it was interesting volunteering at VBS.

"The things you say....you're unbelievable." (Haha, moving on now. I'm easily distracted tonight also.)

In the past, I have volunteered to help at VBS at smaller churches. I had more personal interaction with the kids. At my current church, that was not the case. I helped in the craft area (grades 1st-6th). I love helping in the craft area and usually have tried to help out in that area each year I have volunteered. At CHCC (my church), the craft area I was in was separated into separate tables. Each table held a different craft and the kids could choose which one they wanted to do that day. Unless they did the clay craft (which had to baked), they could only do one a day. Then, they'd take the craft home with them that day (the next day...if the clay craft).

I was at the photo cube table. It required a lot of folding of cardboard photo cubes and organizing foam stickers into different tins. Believe it or not, I was working with ladies who were more OCD than I am. One lady (Joy) actually started separating the alphabet stickers nearest to us into alphabetical order! Then, everyone followed her lead because it did make things easier in the long run. I'm just glad I have no more boxes to fold or stickers to organize. Haha.

"The devil went down to Georgia...he was looking for a soul to steal."

I'm also glad that VBS is over with because, even though every moment made it worth it, I was having incredibly long days. I was awake by 5:30/6am every morning and went to bed as soon as possible after work every night. I didn't get enough sleep to keep me fully functional each day. I did accidently oversleep on Thursday due to working later than all week on Wednesday night. Oops. I missed "PJ Day". Darn. Haha. I did dress up for the other days however.

*Monday: Sports day (I wore MSSU/hometown team stuff.)
*Tuesday: Clash day (And boy howdy did I clash/look tacky! Haha.)
*Wednesday: Hero day (I don't personally have a hero. So, I dressed up as Pippi Longstocking because I figured I could get away with it easily. Haha.)
*Thursday: PJ day (I obviously did not do this due to oversleeping, but I have 2 pairs of footsie pj's that I planned on wearing. Haha, I'm such a child at heart sometimes.)
*Friday: Class Color day (My crafts area's color was orange so I wore orange. Simple.)

And no, I didn't get any pictures of my Pippi outfit. There were people walking around taking pictures though. I wonder if they'd be on the church website. I'll have to look those up. Haha. I'll just say that I was a "sight to behold" on most of the days. Haha.

"I'm the lyrical Jesse James.--I've got the power!"

I didn't have to work on Saturday. I was shocked about that because I nearly always work on Saturday nights. Oh well. Since I was sleep deprived, I slept almost all day on Saturday. It was heavenly and I feel 110% more refreshed. I was beginning to act zombie-like. Haha. I didn't sleep well on Saturday night (obviously) but I was still more awake on Sunday morning than I am most sundays. Haha. Needless to say, I went to bed at a decent hour on Sunday night.

Today, I worked from 5pm-11pm. Nothing major. Mondays are pretty dead nights to begin with. I was in the kitchen with Nikki most of that time. She, unfortunately, had to close kitchen tonight. After Anthony and April left around 8pm, I was thrown on drive-thru. It wasn't too bad, for drive-thru. I did have one car that I wanted to bop the driver across the back of their head for being a general idiot. Haha. Such is life.

It is nearly 2am and I'm still awake. I'm actually listening to Shakira sing right now...in spanish. It makes me happy. (Not Shakira herself...but her music) I have run out of things to say. I will talk to you later. (Wow, I typed that sentence without looking at the computer...or paying attention to what keys I was typing. That is when you know a person types too much on a computer when they can do it subconsciously. Haha.)

Everyone have a great day/night.--robyn

P.S.--The one kitten I have left MUST be on crack. I promise you that I'm not providing the crack. Haha.
