I'm 22 years old & 260lbs. When I was 15 I started gaining weight, after i began dating my first b/f, and began IM'ing on an hourly basis. I used to be so so so so so so health concious, when I was 12 I was doing 500 plus sit ups a day, working out for hours! I was 115 lbs and thought I was 'fat' That continued through middle school, even though I was an average size 7. When highschool started I was a size 9, I gained one size a year until senior year when I reached a size 16! When I started college I barley could zip a size 16! I was the maid of honor in my best friends wedding, when she asked me what size dress I needed, i told her a '16' the same size my prom dress was a year and a half before....guess what? I ended up needing a size 22, I was so embarrased and felt so horriable about myself, how could I let myself get this way? I was only 19 years old! WTF. So halfway through college i decided I needed a change, a friend told me she had lost a lot of weight using a program called slim in six, so I gave it a go. I fasted for 5 days and lost 20 lbs, of coarse most of it was water weight, but when i began eating again, i ate a lot more healthy, i actually kept ten of those twenty pounds off, i began the program and in three weeks i had lost 30 lbs and i fit in my old jeans perfectly, i was down to 230 lbs, it was great!....Then I quit. That was 2 1/2 years ago, and I have gained all that weight back, everytime I try to stick with a workout i lose all motovation 2 weeks in, and then i kick myself. This is why I am creating this diary, hoping that my fellow bloopers can help me, support me, and finally stick with what I know I need to do, not only so I can feel good about myself but so I can be healthy, This is the first time I've ever shared my true weight with anyone, its so embarrasing to out weight your b/f, I don't feel femine, I feel like a pretty face sitting on a big blob. So I start my journey here on bloopdiary.com Starting with a two day fast, followed by six weeks of healthy eating and workouts, With the the result of a whole new me

I hope your plan works. I'd love to hear about how you're doing.
Losing weight is so hard, especially when you're trying to do it the right way by trying to be healthy and all.
So good luck! I'm going to add you to my faves and keep up with you.

Welcome to bloop, you're sure to meet a lot of people who will support you and cut to the chase to keep you motivated.
You should probably start off small. If dieting and working out has been a problem for you before then just changing your diet and physical habits right away is obviously not going to work. You should start small, change cookies for 100 calorie snack packs, eat healthier meals, i.e. instead of eating just a chicken alfredo, load it up with some veggies, use less grease, use oil instead of butter when frying up foods. Eating slightly smaller portions will also help. I've also noticed since I got pregnant that it will really help your portion control if you eat smaller amounts of food throughout the day. For example, instead of eating three large meals, have six small ones. Or have three smaller meals and some snacks throughout the day.
You have to watch what you snack on though. You can't reach for pretzels or popcorn and congragulate yourself for eating a snack. You should eat things like a handful or two of wheat thins, a zip-lock baggie of craisens (Which are high in protein and will keep you energized and feeling satisfied), or just look through your grocery store for dietary snacks. Look at the nutrition lable though, not just the cover..Some companies claim to have 100 calories a serving but you have to ask yourself...How many servings am I getting and what does it add up to? I really like the South Beach Diet peanut butter and chocolate meal bars. I didn't care for them at first but I really enjoy them now and they really help to keep you on track of eating better portions throughout the day.

Exercising definitely wouldn't help, like you want to do. But don't pressure yourself. Instead of hitting the gym and making yourself feel obliged, just opt to walk to the store instead of driving. Or anywhere, you get the gist, as long as it's not too terribly far.

Drinking enough water throughout the day will also help because your body won't try to retain and save it. Try to get your full eight glasses a day. It's really hard, I've realized how hard it is since I've become pregnant, it's something that I have to tell myself to do every day, but it really can help.

I hope that I could help in some way

Once again, welcome to bloop, and good luck!

Random Comment: Am on the same Journey myself. The only thing that keeps me going sometimes, is that i tell myself it took me 22 years to get to the point of where i am now. So, its not going to be a quick fix. Then of course seeing results & having support def keeps me on the right track. I wish you the best of luck.

Welcome to bloop! I'm sure you can do it but why the two day fast to begin with? Surely that can't be good!

RYC: aw, thanks.
Yeah, I get down on myself and think that I'm the one messed up, but you're right that someone else is missing out.

I'm 23 years old, 5'5 and weigh about 260 lbs. I'm a size 20-22 right now, depending on the brand. I feel your pain. I was a size 10-12 until I got pregnant with my daughter, I gained almost 60 lbs and then lost most of it.. then gained it back, lost it again.. and now I've gained it back again! I just recently found out that we're 4 weeks pregnant, so the 6 lbs that I've recently lost has really been for nothing, because I'm going to gain at least another 10-15 lbs over the next year.

I'm going to try to be a lot more active this spring and summer so that maybe I won't gain quite as much weight. Good luck to you and welcome to bloop!!!
