Yesterday in the car Austin and I were spelling words. He's so smart and I'm proud of him for everything he does know. He can spell so many words just by sounding them out it amazes me. I've never been good at sounding out words for some reason. I'm not sure why, it was just something I had issues with in school. Anyway as we were sitting at a traffic light I asked him if we were supposed to turn left or right. He said left which was the way we were going and than he started to spell left. After he got that right he asked how do you spell right. Oh damn. He started to sound it out, he said rite. I tried to explain that no its right. Oh no. He kept trying to sound it out. I tried to explain the sometimes they use gh like in tight, right, light and so on. Omg he got mad at me. Apparently explaining the English language which a lot of times makes no sense to me is way harder when talking to an autistic 5 year old. I really hate trying to explain why phone isn't fone or why knife even has a freaking k in it. Lord help me when I have to do that. I don't know why a mouse becomes mice or why a fish becomes lots of fish. Maybe his teacher can explain it to him in a way that makes sense. All I wanted to say was that the English language sucks ass.
