Date night!

11/02/2012

Date night was great!! We left about 4:30 (our nephew was babysitting) and went to T.G.I.Friday's. I haven't been there since I was 17 (ten years) and I wasn't impressed the last time I went. This time was amazing! Daniel got the sizzling chicken and shrimp and I got the Sizzling chimchurri steak... We couldn't decide between the two so we he got the chicken and I got the steak. So good. I asked the waitress if I could have the chimchurri sauce on the side because the menu said it was spicy. Well, she brought the food out and came back to check on us after a while and asked me how I liked the sauce. I told her it was great (like a green chile sauce), that I wasn't trying to be picky but I'm pregnant and wasn't sure how my taste buds were going to react that day (I can usually eat spicy food). Her reaction was great! She put her hands over her mouth and gasped, "OH MY GOD I'm so happy for you guys!! Congratulations!!" I thought it was sweet. I looked at Daniel after I left and asked him if he thought I was weird for telling the waitress, he's all, "Hell no! I tell everybody! I'll tell my co-workers 'hey, dude, my ol' lady heard the heartbeat today!' " I freakin' melted. I've never had someone to share my happiness with. When we left the waitress told us to come back and update her on the pregnancy and bring the baby in (I think people think I LOOK pregnant cause I'm fat, which is cool 'cause I'd rather look pregnant than fat.)

Well, we were only out of the house for two hours at this point, so we headed to Best Buy and then Target, they were in the same strip mall. Nothing great happened at Best Buy, so I'll move on to Target.

I'll admit, my main reason to go to Target was to check out baby clothes. Uh, baby girl clothes. On our way to the back of the store, there was a display with some cute winter hats. One was furry with ears, and there was a beautiful fur lined white one. Well, the shelf said the white hat was $10, and Daniel told me to get it. I was like, aw thanks! And we started to walk off. I looked at the hat and the tag said $20, and I couldn't justify 20 bucks for a hat. So I put it back and we walked over to the baby stuff. We oohed and awwed over all the frilly dresses, I choked up and got emotional a few times. I am scared I'm setting myself up too much here. Which is stupid of me but I can't help it. I want a daughter so bad, I don't know if I could just give up after this baby is born if it's a boy. I don't want it to be my last shot. Of course I care if it's healthy and I would get over it, but there will always be a 'what if' in my mind. Just like with Tyler... I can't help but think about this baby being a girl. Daniel can't either, I can tell.

Remember me writing about Daniel being cheap? Well I was worried that baby shopping with him would be a chore because he would complain about cost. (I get my tax returns back the month before we find out the sex, so good timing). Well, we were looking at the car seats and I asked him how much he was willing to spend on one, and he said, "Baby, if I get this new job, our baby will have the best of everything! She's going to be spoiled." Awwwww. The job he is talking about is in Denver (about 30-60min commute depending on traffic), it's $60/hour and a two year long job. It's through the same company he is with now, just a different location. And his company is already talking to him about working there, so I hope it all works out. We could save so much money.

So, after the baby section, we start walking towards thee women's clothes (Target is the only store in Greeley that carries maternity clothes) and Daniel says, "Wait a minute... I have that $10 gift card in my wallet. Want that hat? Get it." So I did. I also went through all of the clothes, and they had some cute shit! There was a leather jacket for $40! I really wanted to buy clothes there, maybe I can get a few things with my stipend money. Daniel was so sweet, he held my purse while I tried on jackets and commented on them, and would show me clothes I didn't notice. He was like my shopping buddy, it was great. I'm so lucky to have such a good man.

So, after we left Target, we went to his friend Jeremiah's house. This is the second time I have met Jeremiah, and the first time I met his wife, Amanda. Amanda is 8 months pregnant with another girl (she has a 3 year old already). So I sat there and visited... but I don't like Jeremiah. Jeremiah straight up pulled out his bong and started smoking with two freakin' pregnant women in the room! (The little girl was at a neighbors). I can respect that it's his house, but I can't respect his disrespect of the lives growing in our bodies. (Just to throw this out there, medical marijuana is legal here, and Jeremiah has a license. So he isn't doing anything ILLEGAL, just MORALLY wrong IMO). I highly suspect Amanda doesn't give a shit about the life inside of her either, because there was a pack of Marlboro Reds on the coffee table, and I know Jeremiah doesn't smoke cigarettes. What she's doing isn't illegal either, so I guess I shouldn't judge (because I WAS that mom before). What J did next I WILL judge. I was sitting the furthest I could away from him, on a love seat by myself. There was a cat on the back of the love seat but the opposite seat, closest to Amanda on the couch. J starts talking about how his animals like to get high with him (cringe) and blows a big puff of smoke towards the cat right next to me. The smoke ended up right in his pregnant wife's face. (Double cringe). I wanted to fucking sock him one! Anyways, we left soon after, I bitched and bitched about it to Daniel but he just listens of course. I don't think I will ever go to their house again. I like his wife's personality, and would be willing to meet them in pubic where he just can't get stoned.

So, here's a pic of me in the hat. Because I think it's super cute! (I had to edit it, because the hat is white and the background is white, so you kind of have to LOOK for it. But you get the point.)

The braids of it hang down long towards my stomach with tassels.

Pic of the hat from the site. The tassels are way longer though...

I don't know why I'm going on about the hat.. I just never get anything!
