Some things never change

11/05/2012

I had an entry mapped out in my mind, but something way more important happened.

I got a message on Facebook. From my best friend from high school, Paige.

Paige and I were friends freshman year... Oh my god I wanted to be just like her! She had this crazy great sense of style that I admired, and she didn't care what anyone else thought of her. She ended up dropping out like sophmore year and we lost touch. When we were friends, we used to walk to AM/PM together and buy candy (we lived in the same neighborhood). I would buy a bag of mini reese's and line them up and eat them, one from the left side, then one from the right.

When she dropped out, she got on drugs, ran away, and got in a lot of trouble. That's why we lost touch. We reconnected when I was 18 and living on my own. We would party together, and I tried to keep her off of meth. I think she became co-dependant on me, which is okay becuse in high school I was toatlly co-dependant on her. She ended up relapsing and I ended up blowing up at her over bullshit and cutting off our friendship. We haven't spoken in nine years.

Well, I found her on Facebook when I was pregnant with Tyler a few years ago (which was a bitch because she has four freakin' names!) and I sent her this long heartfelt message on there. She never replied. I figured she was still angry about how shit went down back in the day and I felt like shit because I was a total bitch. She really needed me.

Well, I got a message from her today saying she had never recieved the message before, that her husband read it and never told her about it. And she tried to call the number and it was out of service and she missed me and we had a lot to catch up on. I called, right then. We sat there and talked for like an hour and a half! And she is in Colorado! Like, four hours away, but still, I wanna see her.

The thing is about her, she reminds me of Hannah so much. Which is good. Paige has been in and out of trouble, went to rehab for the drugs and got clean. She says she will always be recovering but has a good head now. I'm so proud of her! I'm also happy to have someone back in my life!

Except the damn woman doesn't believe in cell phones (who DOES that?!) so no texting, lol. But she will call me all the time, if I know her.

When I talked to her, it's as if everything were the same. She sounds the same, talks the same, we talk about the same shit. It's like nine years never went by at all. I can't even explain it. Anyways, we are going to make it a point to try and meet up. I'll probably head to her town, so I can see Madison too.

In other news, called the speech therapy for Tyler. They come to my home (Uhh, CONVENIENT!) and work with him... which means I'll have to start cleaning the house. They are sending me an information packet, oh, and it's covered by insurance. Whew.
