Alice and Thunder Man

03/09/2010

On a lighter note,

My prediction is that Tim Burton and Johnnie Depp will remake The Wizard of Oz next and completely screw it up. I am a fan of both of them, but wish they would do more original work.

After the atrocious Willie Wonka remake I am afraid of Alice in Wonderland. Anyone seen it? I have heard it is ok other than an unwatchable CGI-enhanced dance number performed by the Mad Hatter.

At any rate, one side of the mushroom will make you grow smaller, one side will make you grow taller, and one side will make you trip very hard for a few hours. If you eat the whole thing the paradox will destroy the earth or make your nipples explode, but you will have a good time. The choice is yours.

I loved it. I also loved Charlie and the Chocolate factory. Its not a remake its a sequal.

I love both Johnny Depp and Tim Burton and think they are perfect together.

Random: I agree 100 percent. I had to do a facepalm when I heard this was coming out-same leading actors (I know some new faces) but c'mon, it would be nice to see orginal work from them, I think it'd be great...

i love the depp-burton combo, but alice in wonderland fell far short of the mark. a.i.w. is an acid trip on its own, and i expected burton's to fuck up my head. it did not. i cringed several times. i think burton needs to accept that disney is not an acceptable outlet for his dark and twisty stuff.

I haven't seen it and I don't intend to. I'm an admirer of both Burton and Depp but I mostly prefer their earlier work. Still, I don't blame them for going more mainstream. You get more money that way and they've both reached an age where they are beginning to think of growing their pension funds!

ryc: ..the only place I have anything up is on myspace. http://www.myspace.com/jejones83 ..but all that stuff is really really old. I don't draw often, especially when i discovered that I love writing more. I couldn't ever draw anything from my head.. I can only mimic what I see. Drawing was significant for awhile, but I wouldn't call myself an artist. Other people do, but thats just because most people I know can't even draw stick figures. I never did the 222 thing.. i found a pic online of what looks like 2 huge doors opening and barely letting bright light in.. with a small figure of a person about to walk through them. This caught my attention.. at the bottom I made the light shine down the floor to spell "Isolation" ..I didn't finish it though.
