Inspiration

I was inspired by one of the diarists on this lovely site by the name of *~His Mrs.Right~*to make a Reading List for 2011 since I have so many books in my library that I haven't even touched since buying them. So, I made a catalog of the books that I have at my house currently (unfortunately this list is woefully incomplete because I still have books at my mothers house) and I'm going to make a reading list out of them. I have 67 books that have not been read (for of those were bought tonight. lol)

Anyway, here are all my books:

Read:
The Bitch Posse by Martha O’Connor- I adore this book and want her desperately to come out with another one. This is her first novel, so it gives me a bit of hope that I might come up with something as brilliant when I write mine.
The Time Traveller’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger- SO MUCH BETTER than the movie. Give this one a read.
Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson
The Catcher and the Rye by J.D. Salinger- a literary classic that doesn't read like a classic book
Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare- Yes, its very 8-10th grader-ish, but I absolutely adore this play.
Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates- I know people say in things quite cliche-like "I couldn't put this down!", however, I literally couldn't. It is an absolutely amazing book.

I also forgot the books on my Nook, so now this list is really REALLY incomplete. Haha. I will also probably devote some of the summer to guilty pleasure reading like Harlequin Romance Novels (because I'm a sucker for smut disguised as love. LOL.)

I don't know whether to go in alphabetical order or go from the ones that I've had the longest (finally finishing ones that I started long ago) or go in an even more random route. I suppose I'll figure it out later.

"Be who you are and say what you feel
because those who mind don't matter
and those who matter don't mind."
-Dr. Seuss

Dickinson is my favourite poet, and i don't even like poetry.

A Dirty Job is my favourite Moore book ever, and i am a big Moore fan (reading one of his books right now actually).

1984 is an absolute must-read; it's one of those books you should not get through life without reading at least twice - first for the story, and twice for the terrifyingly true prophecies and philosophies behind it.

and anyone reading anything by Shakespeare for pleasure makes me unspeakably happy.

i get really excited when people make reading lists or talk about books, sorry i am a book nerd.

HEY! If you're going to read romance, skip harlequin and go for "The Secret" By Julie Garwood. It is one of my favorite romance novels.

RYC: i do the same thing, only with Value Village instead of garage sales. i usually have a pile of about 20 books i've not yet gotten to. Some i've had for more than two years, because i keep getting new ones that interest me more. i also use Bookmooch, so there are almost always a few things coming my way from various parts of the world through there.
