Monday: Went to work to do some overtime, it was a Bank Holiday according to Asda. Everyone else just said "Is it?" Bad stuff at Asda though. On Sunday they phoned me up to ask if I was meant to be at work. "No" I told them "my contract says Thursday, Friday, Saturday." However when I finished my shift on Monday. I was told that I was given the wrong hours and that I should only have 18 hours rather than 24. I'm not that upset as I can always get overtime, it's the fact that within a week of being in a job somebody has made a balls up. I was suspicious when half way through the induction day I still had no idea what my hours were and everyone had theirs on a contract. Mine was conspicuously blank.
Tuesday: Normally two alarms go off in the morning, mine and then the wifes about five minutes later. Now I never used to press the snooze button I used to get up! However I have started hitting snooze. When we stopped this the mrs says to me "It's 6.48 it's going to be interesting getting the bus." I just said I'd give her a lift to work instead. Dropped her off then wandered around the shops. I got Mario Strikers charged for £9.99 (that's another 250 stars for me ). Looked in various shops at personal CD players, I think I will go for the Argos cheapo one as it has the longest battery life.
Went for a walk after my shopping to find the library located near the shopping centre. I had looked at an overhead sattelite map the evening before. Walked straight there. It's inside a community centre. Got a book out called Stretch 29. It's about a guy who thinks he is less successful than his friends and has worked out a formula to prove it. It's a bit coarse but I am enjoying so far. Actually the librarian really couldn't be bothered with me and slammed my book on the counter. I felt like I had just stepped in to the Royston Vasey library "It's only for local people!" Still I think I'll go in on Friday after my overtime shift just to annoy her again. .
Wednesday: Didn't do much.
Thursday: Went in to town got bread, Euromillions ticket (It's 49 million currently!) and 3 more books out of my local library. Got a single star on a 150cc cup in MarioKart Wii, just seven more for Dry Bowser.
Friday: Work. Dropped the mrs off at her work. Went to do four hours overtime at Asda. First two hours dragged as there were literally more staff than customers. They switched me to doing lunches which was fine as I ended up with five minutes at the end of my shift to do nothing. I suggested I should collect baskets and was thoroughly agreed with. Clocked off a couple of minutes late. Met the Mrs at lunch. We went to M+S for tea and in my case a gooey cake! Sat there enjoying the view and the hour of non-shop related monotony. She went back to work afterwards and I headed to MacDonalds to treat myself to some junk food. I'm still losing weight I don't know how or why. I tried to use the Wi-fi connection at McDonalds but it just chucks you off before connecting. Grr at the Cloud. Then it was off to Argos to get my cheapo cd player and a pack of 48 batteries. Bargain price plus I use a few in my Wiimotes. Moved the car from one side of the centre to the other and parked. Found 4p on the floor as I opened my car door. Pick up a penny for luck and all that.
Saturday: Back to my revised hours of 10-8. This day dragged and dragged. Checked Euromillions ticket when I got in 1 number and 1 star. Damn!
Sunday: Really fast day at work, very busy. Got home in about 7 minutes from work! Usually give myself half an hour for any traffic but there wasn't any. Then I was made to hoover and steam the bedroom to get it ready for the house inspection.
