Rewind when the crowd says...............someone really ought to put Craig David somewhere..... Ok going way back to the 19th of June, it was June's birthday (That's my mother in law who I live with). We took her to the Falkirk Wheel. Which is the world's only rotating boat lift. I managed to get there by following approxiamately this much of the road map: Leave motorway at junction five. We then started seeing signs for the Falkirk Wheel and just followed them. I was teasing June and said to her that's your first purchase as an O.A.P. Not that she paid of course it was my treat! I felt I ought to make up for the fact I gave her a card earlier with a smiling O.A.P on it who is wearing a sandwich board that says: " I'm only smiling because I can't hear a word you are saying." Which was funny as it tickled her sense of humour. I took some photos at the Falkirk wheel but it isn't as scenic as you'd expect. We went to the cafe and had lunch as our boat ride wasn't until about an hour later.
The girl on the reception desk asked if I wanted to move to the earlier trip I said No. We were all very glad I said No, the previous trip was full up with very loud tourists and the rest of the boat was full of screaming disabled children.
When it was time for our boat we boarded, instantly after this we were ambushed by a chatty woman with a camera. Now anyone who knows me knows I hate being that side of the camera. However sure enough after just being cheery and jolly enough so that even the sanest of people want to throw a hammer through her head she takes pictures and asks everyone to smile. I don't know what the purpose of these pictures were or whether I'll be appearing in a leaflet soon. Anyway she made a hasty exit of the boat. Then we went forward into the Falkirk Wheel. It slowly started to rotate to link up to the canal which is 35 metres above. Then slowly through a tunnel and turned around for the return journey. I have photos which I may upload. Once back home, coming back once again a different way than a) that we came and b) than any other way we have left Falkirk.
We presented June with her M&S cake which was enjoyed by all. Apart from the dog, he's not allowed icing! June also got lots of jewellery, a kimono, a dvd of Where Eagles Dare, plus lots of other little knick knacks.
Well I am still unemployed and bored. However I have applied back to the bus company that trained me originally and of course me being me the supermarket I last worked for (Who incidentally turned me down when I last applied) phoned me up and said "Are you still looking for work?" "Yes" "Would you like to come to a selection group on Thursday at 2.00 pm?" I figure what the hey I might as well go to the selection process. I do still want to train to drive buses but I'd rather have money coming in while I do so. They're going to offer me checkout work (which will be easy once I remember all the codes for fruit and vegetables!) or night (or should I say 3rd shift His Brown Eyes!) work. It would be more peaceful and slightly better for me financially. As the store shuts between 12am and 6am. However I'm not going to think about that until I have had the group selection.
Getting my hair cut tomorrow. It's at the annoying stage where it starts poking over the legs of my glasses. I now get my hair cut very short and spiky, I know the people who know what I look like can't picture me with spiky hair! It all started when I got my hair cut in Edinburgh and I just asked for really short hair. The Polish woman (confusingly working in an Asian run barbers!) obviously thought that meant spiky. Still it was a revelation. Luckily I don't need my hair cut very often. About once every 6 months.
Got my corrected Virgin amount taken out of my account Direct Debit. I rang them up to check that a) They got the surplus router back and b) They'd taken £40 off my bill. So my bill for the month came to £13. Which isn't bad for 2 cable tv's, Broadband and Phone.
I managed to win an auction for the DS game New Super Mario Bros on the DS. It's the first time in ages I have won an auction probably helped by the fact it ended in the middle of the day. Added bonus Free postage and packing. I used to use Ebay a lot but now it seems you have to sit there right until the end of the auction. I got it for about £12 which is roughly half price of any internet stockists I've seen.

About a week ago I went down to the Union Canal to see the Model Boat Club. It was meant to start at 7.00pm. However they didn't put a single boat in the water until 7.20. There was a scale model of a tug boat, and an army style boat. Whoever was driving the army boat was an idiot as they kept trying to swerve around the other boats at the last minute. He failed at one point and went smack into the side of a replica steamer (It looked a bit like the Titanic although I'm assuming it wasn't).
