Well this was quite a week.

Monday: Started full time work in my new role at Asda. I'm now a SOL (Store Of Learning) Trainer. The first day was all the paperwork and being introduced to people. I got a free square of caramel shortbread though so it was fun. Received my timetable and baulked at the fact I was rota'ed to do a 6am the following day!

Tuesday: Got in at 6.20am as that's when the first bus was. It's ridiculous I live 20 minutes away (vehicle wise) from my work, but can't get there for 6am using public transport. However you can get into Edinburgh for 6am and thats about 20 miles away! Learnt how to be on the customer service desk. Trained on that til 2pm. Left work and contacted the garage who had a new car battery. Went via a 16 bus which takes ages to the garage. Got the battery, walked very slowly uphill to the bus stop. Another 16 (massive detour before home). Boy did my arms ache, I've no idea how much a car battery weighs but it's heavy. Plus I had my rucksack and a massive training folder for my new job to carry too! Got back at 18.10. So more than 12 hours after leaving the house!

Wednesday: Fitted car battery and the car came back to life. Short shift today to my relief only 12 til 6.

Thursday/Friday: Had some grumpy customers. Including lots who got the Susan Boyle album for Christmas but couldn't get it returned as they didn't have the receipt. And a very dim woman trying to get me to refund two pairs of joggers. When she'd only brought back one pair. She even insisted that she be refunded £10. Which I said no to as the pair of joggers she had brought back were tagged £4 and it said £4 on her receipt when I matched the numbers up.

A bombshell was dropped that night on our heads. Our current landlord told us that she wanted to put the house back on the market. So again we found ourselves technically homeless.

Friday: I went to work. The mrs and the mother in law spent the day on the net and walking around town to find suitable houses. We found a few. Meanwhile I went to work and was nearly rammed off the road by a Walkers lorry. I drive down a dual carriageway to work which has various slip roads on and off it. This lorry driver barged right out or tried to in front of me. So I ended up between the lanes and scaring the hell out of someone in a black car in the fast lane. Took his reg and reported him.

Came home and was told that the wife had found two potential houses and that I had a viewing with the mother in law the next day.

Saturday: Got up and got ready. Looking semi-smart for an interview with the bank about mortgages (ooh how grown up!). It was good news they will lend us more than we thought. Not masses but enough if we see something.

Went back home again sat down ate lunch then it was time for the viewing. Met the people renting it out and their cat Gizmo. I like the house and so did the mum in law. Later on Angela (once she had finished work got to view the property as well).

Sunday: Got left list of instructions of what to do housewise. Have to contact lego as well as they sent the wrong replacement brick in my set! At least I can transfer my fibre optic broadband over there to the new house.

Caramel shortbread makes everything better. Oooh, its my favourite!

Glad the mortgage stuff went well. *fingers crossed* on the house hunt.

ryc: I haven't read any of those books, no. I would say 'I will look out for them and read them' but I have no time atm. Maybe when I'm on maternity leave I will buy a big pile of books.

Hehe, that makes 3 people so far!
