Those of you watching the weather forecasts will know up here in Scotland we have had an absolute deluge of snow. Not helped by the fact the council don't seem to be able to get enough snowploughs and gritters out quick enough. I haven't started the car for 2 weeks now. Probably a good thing with the weather and the patients health!
So I have been on the buses. Which is fine although I do think it's ridiculous that I can get a return to Edinburgh for 70p more than a return to where I work which is possibly 8 miles away at the most. The annoying thing about the buses around here bar one company they all insist on correct change. As they have machines you dump the coins into rather than giving it to the driver.
Christmas at work was nuts. Queues right down to the middle of the shop and we had all 38 tills plus the cigarette kiosk open. Lots of complaints about the queue, but I just said it is Christmas week. I got all my shopping done by the 20th!
My presents included Wii Fit Plus (handy for working off the extra food!), a lego creator dog set and a lego creator train set, a sudoko rubiks cube, shortbread (really nice!), gourmet jelly beans and lots of other sweets. The mrs only had Christmas Day off which sucks. However she does have 5 days over new year and I'm not back at work 'til the third of January.
I did ask my current boss whether I should just go up to my new department on the 3rd to which she said "No come to checkouts as we haven't even had an offer letter come to us." Which makes me think something has gone wrong although my new department closes over Christmas. Just a case of wait and see I think.
