Mother of the Year

01/31/2011

I need to vent. This is not going to be a pretty entry. Sorry in advance if I offend anyone.
There is this girl I read on OD. She and I were pregnant around the same time. I was going the modern route and going to the hospital to give birth, she was going to have a home birth in a pool in her bed room.

To each their own.

Long story short, her labor didn't go well. She was in labor for something like 5 days, and the mid wife finaly suggested to her after all the time that maybe she should think about going to the hospital.

The girl had never had an ultra sound because some where someone told her they make your kids left handed and that means they are retarded....Sigh.

So she finaly goes to the hospital and turns out she needs a c section.

Now all she does is BITCH and CRY and COMPLAIN about those horriable people who STOLE her proper birthing experience and cut her open.

Chicky, come here *slaps her upside the head* LISTEN! Those horriable Dr's saved your daughters life! I could walk you through my place of employment and show you 20 kids who are profoundly disabled because of difficult labors. Not only that, but they also saved YOUR life, and without you it it really wouldn't matter to your daughter how she was born, not that she will remember or likely care later!

Anyway, so she chose to breastfeed and use cloth diapers.
Congrats to her. Yay. *tosses a handfull of confetti in the air*
I formula fed and used Huggies. (OMG! I'm never going to be Mother of the year!) But, may I add I have yet to see any long term negative effects from either. Jake has not had diaper rash, he walked at 9 months and can use American Sign language (which I am teaching him) I think he's ok even though I clearly neglected him.

But she is CONSTANTLY on this self ritious high horse that Breastfeeding is the only way a baby should be fed and mothers who formula feed are of lower intelligance and are KILLING thier children who surly not going to live past 3 years old.

Really? Breastfeeding is not a new concept. Trillions of women have been doing it since the begining of time. Your not going to get a medal. Your not going to get any awards. Come here again. *Slaps her upside the head* Get off your soap box! Isn't your breast fed kid the one with the dangerously low iron level while my kids lab work is spectacular?

MAYBE just Maybe if you got your head out of your dead beat daddys ass (you know, the one who wanted you to get an abortion...yea, that one) long enough to look around at the world you would find your not the perfect example for anything.

And on that note, HE'S never going to marry you! He is playing you. He does not want this child. Never did, never will. That is why he doesn't want to spend time with her. But he will keep proposing to you every 6 months to keep you from making him pay child support which would require him to get off his lazy ass and get a job and so you can keep sucking his dick. He's got it made. You fuck him, he gets to fuck off and the only one getting FUCKED is you!

Congrats. You are Mother of the Year! Now shut the fuck up.

Anyway, I'm too nice to actually leave her a note and tell her that. I try to live by if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all. And for a year, I haven't said anything. But I just needed to vent that out.

Rant over.

beautiful rant, I really dislike the women whom judge me because A) I really wanted drugs, but couldn't have them; B) I couldn't nor did I want my daughter attached to my breast all the time and C) I vaccinated on schedule.
That's my mini-rant.

good rant, and worthy of the printing~~
yes, formula fed babies are fine, birth at hospital in my opinion is the way to go. YOu are ready for anything teh baby needs, aplus you get to use drugs if needed , and you get to rest afterwards while someone cares for the baby in a warm nursery.
I delivered 3 kids in the hospital. Doing it at home would have been heroic, but theres no future in being a hero. and my kids didnt remember any of it BTW.

Eh, my daughter is going to need therapy just for the first two years of her life. lol
I get it all the time, 'Your daughter would have gained weight better had she been breastfed' blah blah blah. A lady I worked with told me my kid looked under weight, she asked me if she was formula fed, I said yeah soy and she began her lecture that my next kid better be breastfed because formula just isn't healthy. I explained to her that, unless her doc says otherwise, she's a healthy weight; she has a fast metabolism.
She had surgery in August, lost six pounds and just got back up to pre-surgery weight and she's an active kid.
All the other ones that question me or lecture me, I just ask them the simple question: 'Is she your child? Does she look unhappy and malnourished? No? Well then, shut the hell up.'
It gets old after a while. lol

Okay that rant just made my day! haha

I don't have any kids. But I don't understand why people wouldn't want to have their children born in the hospital. And I hate people who judge others for not breast feeding. I'm a person who was raised on formula and huggies! I don't think I turned out too shabby
