Ouch!

05/11/2014

Okay up until Wednesday I was one of those pregnant women who everyone hates, I had no morning sickness, no problems at all and was loving being pregnant...

Wednesday I suddenly develop this searing pain in my pubic bone makes it so difficult to walk, sleep, sit. So now I am pretty miserable. Seeing a physical therapist and chiropractor this coming week and hope they can make me more comfortable, I am only 26 weeks I have a long way to go!!

Sigh, I think this may be related to starting work at a childcare facility involving lots of lifting children, getting on and off floor etc. I have a few days off and I will really have to reassess if I am able to continue, which makes me feel like a horrible person (quitting a job after 2 weeks) but also I was really looking forward to having some income again. But if it is going to aggravate my problem I would rather be able to walk than have extra money to spend.

It just really scares me, as a midwife I have seen so many women struggling with this, to the point of needed crutches or wheelchairs or even not being able to give birth vaginally :O hence why I am willing to spend the money on chiropractors etc as they can have really great effect on this.... I hope!

Sigh, oh well. Happy Mothers Day!!

I hate you are having that kind of pain. Maybe you could re-apply to the BX or something? A cashier position wouldn't be nearly as demanding physically. It really stinks that you can't sit the LC exam until the end of July!

Happy Mother's Day to you!

I've had a couple of friends suffer from SPD - it sounds really awful. I hope the physio helps.

I'm sorry you're going through that! I can understand why you'd be willing to give up the extra income in order to have a more comfortable pregnancy. Not to argue with Korey, but I worked at a grocery store all throughout my pregnancy as a front end supervisor, and standing in one place cashiering was much more difficult for me in terms of pain/discomfort than having the freedom and flexibility to move around (bending, lifting, getting carts from the parking lot, etc was much better for me).
