I do find it quite strange that Virginia Woolf wrote everything apart from poetry - a very strange thing indeed. I suppose even people of her caliber have their limits. I don't like to think of her that way though. To me, she is magnificent. Nothing lacking at all. She, like Tolkien, was part of a group of fellow writers. The Bloomsbury Group. Im horribly jealous. First, Tolkiens litetary discussion group, The Inklings. Now this. Imagine being part of a group where your works and outlook deeply influenced literature, economics, as well as modern attitudes towards feminism and sexuality! A silly little "web of kinship, intellectual, social, sexual and amicable ties bound the group, while throughout the group’s history there were various (and complicated!) affairs among the individual members." What could be more perfect? Feeding off the minds of your peers and then instigating sordid affairs with each of them. I can only imagine how outrageous it must have seemed to 'outsiders'. To me, its sublime!

Crikey, I haven't mentioned my day. Well, for one, my leg hurts and I don't know why. It's aching, has been all day. Also the weather here is stupendous, so I went to my Grandma's and spent the afternoon in her garden, as it's much nicer than ours. I needed a quiet day, and I always know I can get my dose of tranquility there, with her. We drank Pimms under the parasol. I need to be careful with my skin in this violent sunshine, it's too early to expose it to harsh sunlight just yet. Baby steps and all that.

I came home at 5.30 ish and made a Greek Salad - I love feta cheese. I had it for the first time in Cyprus, and loved it ever since. I haven't been eating very well these past few weeks. Now and again, munching on salad leaves and small bits of cheese. It's unlike me to mention eating habits in my Diary, but it is quite noticeable that I have lost my appetite, so I have been coraled into making an appointment with my GP.

I watched two films this weekend. Happy Feet 2 (oh shusshhh) and Breaking Dawn Part 1 ( * angry glare). I smiled all the way through Happy Feet 2 - its adorable, really. Breaking Dawn was like a prequel to the final film, so it was mainly setting up the new characters for the 'Grande Finale!'

Now Im quite exhausted.

The happy kind.

I like people to be unhappy because I like them to have souls. We all have, doubtless, but I like the suffering soul which confesses itself. I distrust this hard, this shiny, this enameled content. VW
