Girl of Green Eyes

Still here.... And you know... Alive and whatnot.

11/01/2012

I didn't fall off the face of the Earth!! Yaaaaay!
I've been so frazzled that I meant to update as didn't.... At all for months.
I am horrible.
But I'll update right now.

Elora is awesome. She had a nasty sinus thing (that of course she just had to pass to me) at the beginning of October and it spread to her ears. So it was off to the pediatrician we went. I love the fact that my daughter just blinks and opens her mouth for medicine. I remember my brother fighting tooth and nail, spitting anything back out at our mom no matter how sick he was. Elora just takes it and snuggles when she's sick.
She's back to her normal self now. Just have to schedule her recheck to make sure her ears are all cleared up.

I lost my job back in September. I was late and on probation.... Not a good thing. So no more grocery store bakery for me. Which really sucks because they had good healthcare and I was starting to train as a cake decorator but that's life. :/
Being unemployed for the first time in 13 years was awful. I'never not ha a job. I did get a lot of time with Elora though. There's a bright side to everything.

I started applying for a new job two days after I was fired, as we'll as calling the Union to see if they would fight to get my job back. Had a meeting.... They were pretty much useless. Not really shocked. It didn't work.
Kept applying at every other place I could think of.

I applied at Target and Kohl's last week. And they both called me. Kohl's called me the next day actually. I went to the interview for a seasonal position, with the hope that I'll be kept on past Christmas.
Target just called me on Monday. Had my interview today. As long as I pass my drug test tomorrow (there is NO way I won't pass) and a background check, I'll have two jobs that are seasonal, more than likely will keep me past Christmas, and are willing to work around each other's schedule.
So... Awesomeness abounding.

And also... I met a really funny nerdy guy at Target.
Not looking for a date but it's always fun to have someone to laugh with.
