Last year I met two Bloopers, and they were two of the highlights of my year, which made me determined to meet more of you this year, so after some discussion, Leanne (*snowball*), Helen (Hells Belle) and I are arranging the first big Bloop get together.
Our provisional dates are either 11th or 18th July, and we were thinking of holding a big barbecue in Nottingham (chosen because it's roughly in the middle of the UK, so accessible in a few hours for most British Bloopers. Also Helen lives there, so can be in charge of finding a suitable location ;D). Obviously people would need to arrange their own transport and accommodation, and everyone would need to contribute some food and drink, but we think it could be a great day.
So far we have about 10 British Bloopers interested (although you obviously don't have to be British to come!), who else wants to join us?
I think at some point we will need e-mail addresses from everyone who's interested, and keep you all updated on specific plans that way. We don't really want to post specific details on here, and risk getting gatecrashed!
What about starting an FO diary for it... for the whole "security" thing, people can request to join it and have to be accepted by someone already a member... its easy, the community isn't huge... everyone knows someone :P
Well, yes, I realise that. But I thought most Australian Bloopers were at least on the east coast (except Jose!), and mostly south east. And I remember VirginBlue flights being pretty cheap between say Sydney and Melbourne. But then that was over 4 years ago! I still think it could be done though.
I want to coooooome *cries* How about everyone who contributes for food and drinks also contributes for my plane ticket? lol Oh and I also need someone to go to Uni for me until I come back coz we have to take summer semesters here =P
Yeah, I assumed some people would bring their kids. That's partly why I thought a daytime even like a barbecue would be best. Then everyone can go, and people who need to can head home in the evening. And those of us who want to can always go for drinks in Nottingham afterwards.
