Thanks for replying!
Singapore was right beside Malaysia, but we are not in the Southern Malaysia. We are in an island of our own. Our official language is English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil. The Tamil, Chinese, Malay & a small number of Eurasians lives here. Singapore adopted the Britsh education system and everything in school are taught in English. In Singapore, we are required to learn English and one of our official language (depends on which race you are). "Singlish" is not an official language in our country tho. Singlish is somewhat like "broken English". Singlish doesn't have grammer and vocabulary rules. (And that is why I had a hard time trying to correct my own sentences :()
We are not partly Christian and partly Muslim. According the Wikipedia, Singapore, around 51% of resident Singaporeans (excluding significant numbers of visitors and migrant workers) practice Buddhism and Taoism. About 15%, mostly Chinese, Eurasians, and Indians, practice Christianity - a broad classification including Catholicism, Protestantism and other denominations. Muslims constitute 14%, of whom Malays account for the majority with a substantial number of Indian Muslims and Chinese Muslims. Smaller minorities practice Sikhism, Hinduism and others, according to the 2000 census.
The reason why I asked this was because I had alot of friends who aren't living in Singapore saying that us Chinese are from China. That's not true!
