Step #2

03/29/2011

Dusted off the Qigong dvd and popped it in for the first time. Plan to start folding in Tai Chi after a bit of practice with this first.

I've always known that things like Tai Chi and Qigong would have a positive effect on me, but I didn't realize that I would notice a huge improvement after the first 5 minutes of my first session. I feel like I actually have some energy for a change, I feel happier, and my eye finally stopped twitching (or I just stopped noticing it, either way it's not bugging me anymore)

But I also noticed how annoyingly needy the cat is... as soon as I started the exercise she wound it up like a friggin tornado alarm going off. Rubbing against my legs like she was trying to power a city with static electricity, crying like she was a young child that had a bad dream, trying to get the attention of parents that were so tired of it they had both taken horse tranqs to finally have a whole night's sleep. I think she has found out a way to breathe in through her nose WHILE meowing, kind of like how Kenny G can hold a note for 5 minutes by breathing in through his nose while continuing to blow out through his mouth. there was no end to it.

So I stopped the video at the transition to different exercises to do such things as opening the window so the cat would be distracted (worked for all of 2 minutes), I gave her some treats (again 2 minutes), then knocked her over and wrestled with her for a bit (also afforded me 2 minutes of grace). So when I was done, I lovingly lavished attention upon her and then bugged the crap out of her after she was satisfied and left me alone... just to show her how it felt.

Oh yes... so the 30min exercise ended up taking almost 40min.

Maybe next time I'll lock her in the bathroom or something...

But... you know...
