I had to get blood drawn at work today. Everyone who uses the shooting range here is required to have their lead levels checked annually and today was the day. I surprised myself, I usually manage to walk about 40 feet before my legs get rubbery and the tunnel vision sets in but today I had no ill effects at all. I would never describe giving blood as “pleasant” but if I can avoid going into mild shock every time then I won’t dread it as badly.
I felt rather handy over the weekend so I repaired the threshold at the back door. It might need more work though. The molding on the inside of the threshold along with the molding that holds the vinyl flooring down had been damaged by water so I pulled them up and replaced them with fresh wood. I think the entire base at the bottom of the door will need to be replaced soon though, I might look into replacing the entire door assembly at some point. It opens into the patio and the fenced back yard, I might put in a French door there. I dug my old cordless brad nailer out of the garage to brad the molding to the door frame, it’s one of the tools I acquired when I worked for the power tool company almost 10 years ago. I really need to organize that garage…
My birthday is a week from today. I’m SO glad that I don’t feel as old as the calendar says I should. |
